When you quoted my words, you made an assumption that I was thinking "race". One can easily be "simmering" or "have an agenda" without "race" being the issue. I look at Eric as a young man. One I'd probably like. "Race" is not the issue where those two comments are concerned.

Secondly, in the article, Eric quotes Russell Means as saying something to the effect of "I'm an Indian. I don't cut my hair for anybody." THAT statement brings "race" into the picture. Not only that, but it stereotypes that very culture. Were the Huron & Mohawks NOT Indian? Just because they cut their hair? And, if creating a present-day image is important, WHY would we look at all Indians as having long hair? That, to me, does not make sense.

It seems you have contradicted yourself. First you accuse me of interjecting my own feelings of racism into the article, then you say that he speaks passionately against the injustices to his race. If I was interjecting a "race" issue that wasn't there (which I wasn't), then how could it, by your own words, be there?

I could go on, but then I'd be breaking my promise of just two simple things ...
