My three favorite looks in the movie are the one he gives Alice after Magua cuts him on the rocks before he kills him, the look he gives Chingy when he puts his hand on his father's shoulder before taking off up the rocks to save Alice and the other one is at the Fort when the soldiers come in to arrest Nathaniel for sedition and Uncas kind of lunges forward with a cute, adorable, angry look on his handsome face. Boy is that ever cute. What more can I say. |

Hmmm ... who couldnt help but want some of that ... He looks so good in LOTM. I get palpitations everytime I see him in it
My fave look is the one after theyve rescued the ladies and theyre making their way to the Fort. As Alice climbs up a rocky outcrop they show Uncas looking at her ... he looks sooooo gorge there ... |

I voted the 1993 video release. I pretty much grew up on the movie, since it came out in theaters a year after I was born. My mom started me on my love of it, as she loved it herself. I remember watching it as a little kid, always thinking the words "GO good indians and Nathaniel!!" It was a gr8 movie I have enjoyed since I was little and will always be that way. PS the music is excellent!! |

I was going to say that too but felt it inappropriate since you are so young. Still, for one so young, you sure can pick 'em. |

My parents introduced me to LOTM. I can remember my Dad telling me the story when I was about eight, this was based on the book though. We've had the DVD for a while but I didn't actually sit down and watch it until last summer. Needless to say I completely fell for Uncas, and was mortified when he died even though the concept of dying for love is so romantic. Hence LOTM was banished from sight. My sister happened to be watching it last week, and well, I just had to sit and watch it with her. This time I was kind of prepared for Uncas' death but still was a bit down afterwards. Normally me and my best friend agree on what films we like so that we can talk over them together - not this time. She has never really liked LOTM - shocking I know, I'm trying to make her see reason, or else. I was then searching on the net for LOTM when I found this website, and the rest they say, is history. |

I first watched this movie probably around 93 or so, on HBO (I think) I remember walking into the living room captivated by scenery and music. Then when a scene of Uncas came on, I became an instant fan!! I soon after ran out and bought the VHS and watched in daily. At the time my friends made fun of me b/c I watched it soo much. Probably since 97 I haven't really watched it b/c my life became soo busy after high school graduation. Recently I came across it playing on TV and am now addicted again!!!! I plan on running out and renting the DVD asap. Although from what I've heard on this website I"ll be disappointed in the director's version...I was hoping for the love scene under the falls w/ Alice and Uncas. Before I didn't care for the Hawkeye/Cora love story, but now I do, maybe b/c I'm older. But I've always felt that Alice and Uncas's love story was better and should have had more scenes in the movie. Anyway now that I've typed a book, I just wanted to say after all these years I am soo excited to find this website... I am not the only one out there obsessed with a movie and an indian :) |

I first saw this magnificent movie in the theater. I remember thinking what beautiful scope and scenery! I was entranced by the whole of it but fell in instand lust/love with Uncas. Yes I know I have to take a number and get in line, lol. Hawkeye takes a distant second place behind Uncas imho. I have since seen it in every imaginable way and would watch it a hundred more. If only we could have the whole movie as it was filmed - uncut and unrated. |

I first saw it at the theater when it first came out...'course I was just a child then...
The opening music and the deerhunt really sunk the hook into me. And then there was Magua...WS totally dominated the whole movie. |

I saw it in theater too when it first came out. The whole story line hypnotized me and I'm afraid I've been a brainwashed zombie ever since. To this day the ending scene has me on the edge of my seat, with eyes glued to the screen, and shedding tears when Uncas and Alice die!

I FIRST SAW LOTM IN 1993...VHS RELEASE....MY MIDDLE SON WHO WAS 14 AT THE TIME AND HIS BEST FRIEND WERE HAVING A SLEEPOVER AND WE WENT TO THE VIDEO STORE AND PURCHASED IT. WELL.....THEY WERE BOTH COMPLETELY MESMERIZED....AND IN THIS WORLD OF VIDEO GAMES AND HI-TECH...I KNEW IF IT HAD THIS EFFECT ON THEM......THAT IT JUST WASN'T ME....AWE STRUCK BY THE NATURE OF IT ALL. THE ACTORS, THE CINEMATOGRAPHY, AND THE INCREDIBLE MUSIC I ALSO HAVE THE SECOND VHS RELEASE, THE DVD RELEASE AND THE DIRECTORS CUT...YOU KNOW ALWAYS LOOKING FOR JUST A LITTLE MORE OF THE MOVIE. I HATE TO ADMIT HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE WATCHED IT--[OVER 500]...I ALWAYS SET THE REMINDERS FOR IT WHEN IT IS ON CABLE...THAT IS USUALLY 4-5 TIMES A WEEK...AND I JUST LET IT PLAY IN THE BACKGROUND WHILE I AM DOING HOUSE STUFF. I AM TRULY IN LOVE WITH THIS MOVIE....OBCESSED..WELL MAYBE...BUT IN A GOOD WAY....I JUST APPRECIATE THE REALNESS OF IT AND ITS LINK WITH OUR COUNTRY'S PLIGHT IN THE EARLY YEARS....WOULD HAVE LOVED TO HAVE BEEN THERE.
OH YEAH I ALSO LOVE THE LORD OF THE RINGS!!! BUT LET US NOT GO THERE....THAT WOULD CALL FOR A WHOLE OTHER WEB SITE.

I must say that I never watched or even remember when LOTM came out in the movie theater. I became interested in the movie simply because of the beautiful music. I was in my kitchen and my son had the tv on and I heard the music and was hooked. I watched what was left of the movie (last 20 minutes or so). Throughout the years I would catch glimpses of the movie when it was on t.v. Finally, in 2001 I rented the VHS, sat down with a bowl of popcorn and fell in love!! I was swept away with the music and just the overall beauty of the location, the music and just Hawkeye!! Watching LOTM is my secret treat, which I do once a month or so. I have the soundtrack in my car cd player, whenver I am sitting in traffic I play "The Kiss" and have a Calgon moment. ...sigh |

Hi elee and welcome to the board. It is a treat to just listen to the music, so beautiful. The music helped make this movie so memorable for all of us. Without that music who knows we may not have loved the movie like we do. We all have to indulge ourselves now and then with a LOTM fix. Glad you found the board and joined your fellow Mohicanites. |

I first saw the movie on tv with my older sister. My mother was not happy about me watching such a "graphic" movie at my age back then but she knew she couldn't pull me away from the movie. My sister was so in love with Haweye and went nutts everytime she saw him on the screen...I thought she was odd until I saw my first look at Uncas and went gah-gah! I have seen the movie a million times and own it on VHS and DVD. |
