Dear Sgt. Reynolds,
I do not know of a website specifically for the F&I event at Cook Forest. You may want to check with the Pennsylvania DCNR website, and see if they mention anything about it. Anywho, the DCNR site should provide you with good driving directions to the area of the park where the encampment is. As far as "you know who" being there, I would worry about it, he has already stated the he has no use for reenactors and even his toadie "The Career Seasonal Employee" has expressed a prejudice against us "Tin Soldier Types" (His words, not mine).
I was there for last years first encampment, and it was a very fun and family oriented affair. I look forward to having our newly completed section there for a smoke-filled demonstration, as I said before the kids love it (big ones, as well as little ones). I certainly look forward to my gun bunnies breaking bread with your rangers.

Warmest Regards,

Matross John Haden RA

Hi,
I don't know who you would be talking about, and I know the Cook Forest staff well because I am one of the coordinators of the event. I never had a problem with any of the staff, in fact everyone has been extremely helpful. The park has pretty much let us do what we want and their interference is minimal. Compared to other state sites, Cook Forest is a dream. If you know something about the staff that I don't, send me a private email at: jaymeswbrown@alltel.net, I'd like to hear about it and I'll keep it confidential. As far as a Cook Forest website, there is one for reenactors. You can access it at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/cookfi

State Park Website is: http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/parks/cookforest.htm
Directions to the park is listed there. Cook Forest is located at the southern end of the Allegheny National Forest.

Dear Grenouille,
The two people in question are not on the DCNR Staff, they are however public employees of the commonwealth, I will PM you with the particulars.

Sgt. Munro,

Tis good to see ye back from winter quarters. I trust ye've kept yer scalp, and let daylight into any frenchman or mingo who's foolishy crossed yer path, while faithfully serving His Majesty these past months. May God's merciful Providence be with you in the coming campaigning season.

I agree Highlander, this years event at Cook's is going to be better than last year's. I see a tradition starting here . What better way to truly start the season, than a weekend camping and getting reaquainted with the some of the best British, French and Native reenactors in PA. We are even going to have Seamus and his Augusta Regiment come out, how much better can it get? It will be cool to see how far the guys get this year with making their duggout canoe. Also, Ranger Dale has to have dinner with us again, I mean we fed him last year, so we kinda have to keep him, and who could forget that nightime sky, if that doesn't make you believe in God, nothing will!
So its Huzzaaah, and off to Cook's!!!!

Pax Aye, lads, to Cook we go!!! What say you, Six Pak? Will ye gather your kit and bring your new fangled Lancaster Rifle? I'll be pack'in me seven shilling trade gun and some 'aged molasses'. His Lairdship, my cousin Duncan, is ordered by Captain Graham to be heading a patrol toward Fort Venango around the same time. So we can have 'im escort us a little further north, gawd knows the walk won't hurt him none. He 'as warned me to stay away from the young Private MacDougal, says I might give the pup wrongful advice.

Aye Nut, to Cook we go! I would wish you'd quit crack'in on my rifle, "Killmole". You're just jellous, because with her I can hit a man at over 200 yards, whereas you're lucky to see one at that distance. "Killmole" and I are a famous team in these parts. Why every enemy savage slaps their behinds at me and laugh with fear upon our approach. I also seem to recall that my eagle eye and lighting skill with her saved your sorry hide on one occassion...

Dear One Nut,
A rabid chipmunk? An open air field privy? If it was anyone else, I would say that they were pulling my linstock. You sir, on the other hand, I believe without qualification. I most assuredly look forward to crowning my bumper with you at Cook Forest. For you put the "spirit" in "free spirit". Tell Mr. Pak that I also am eager to trade stories with him over refreshments, so long as he secures his firelock first. Just kidding, God bless you both, your postings made me laugh on what was otherwise a stressful day.

Hey Scout!!!! I remember you from Bushy last year, bud. How hangs the 'hawk? As far as the ever bogus False Flags, he'll probably be there so he can make book on us and give detailed reports to the Virginian, like the good stooge he is. But, hey don't let one fool ruin the weekend for us, just look at him like mind over matter, we don't mind cause he doesn't matter. Huzzaaah!!!!

Sorry you can't make it Ranger, but I understand the logistics involved in such a march from your post in New England.
Private MacDougal my lad, play nice, the 'system' is going to take care of our collective "thorn". May I suggest you focus your mind on matters of a military nature.

Pax Aye, Nut! I do recall that my aim t'was a bit off that day, but If'n it twasn't for "Killmole's" vengeful fire, that chipmunk would've had the better of you. Of course, pard, I am sorry as to what happended to ye, but it was not the most 'barrassing time we ever 'ad. Remember the time we was doin' some trade near Ft. Bedford, back in '61. Now, my old spoonin' buddy, do ye want to relate the tale, or should I...

I'd also like to take this time to acknowledge Msr.False Flags and the rest of The Bushy Run Heritage Society for their failure to support our production "George Washington's First War:The Battles for Fort Duquesne" www.paladincom.com When they were asked for assistance, they deferred to their President who is none other than "The Virginian"While they refuse to help in any way, they're always the first to whine"When's somebody going to do a movie on us?"I thinkthat I have an answer for them...now I'm thinking of a word.....lemee see......oh,I have it now, how about "NEVER!"I guess that nobody out there ever heard of "going along to get along?" I will probably mention it in the next movie, but Pontiac's Uprising was very widespread, and I wouldn't want to neglect anyone elseBesides,False Flags isn't even on the board anymore. That was only a steping stone to a seasonal position
