No no Caitlin and WW, we would never purposefully tease you or tantalize you in such a way. The honest truth is, as I said before, mere words cannot describe. To borrow Rich's phrase, "A hell of a vision!" Anyone care to TRY to explain it to these poor ladies who haven't been graced by The Presence? Caitlin, all I can say is, if you saw this person we're talking about, you'd change your license tag. ;-) Steph |

Greetings everyone,
Well after a 2 hr flight and a 2 hr layover in Philadephia, and a 8 hr flight back to Germany, I made it back around 10:30am yesterday. There was no lost luggage this time. Nothing broke. I was extremely tired. I slept nearly all of the time on the plane and I took a 4 hr nap yesterday. I had a great time.

"The Mohican Master 2000"...what?! For those of you who missed Nancy's description from the Ben Stiller Show of "Hawkeye" running and exercising and pushing his Mohican Master, here's a link to Ben as Hawkeye...there IS a bit of a resemblance:

Caitlin, methinks yon' Lady Gatherers are enjoying their moment of teasing us non-Gatherers with the imagining of this Vision-of-Tallness. What do you think?
WW, i can't tell you if this "vision-of-tallness" was their imagination or not since I wasn't there, but it sounds suspiciously like the "vision of tallness" that I see in Tahlequah when I go there. I will have to find a picture that I have of the "Tahlequah vision." Kay |

I would like to take this moment to Thank someone who did'nt even make it to the gathering. Mary Graybill (aka) Bookworm. Mary was unable to attend this gathering at the last min. But made arrangements with Donna and UPS to get tons of donations to us. When I arrived at the Geneva I had a large box waiting for me. Mary the items were a hugh hit, The basket you sent was amazing. Nancy won it, and took her forever to carry it to her car. Your kindness is what makes our gatherings so special.
Several of us were talking the last day of the gathering, it was discussed that the gatherings, although, LOTM themed have becomed more of a reunion of old and dear friends then anything else. Don't get me wrong, we LOVE the movie, that is what brings us the first time. But it's the friends we make that keep us coming back.
I would like to thank all my friends who make the gatherings really what they are. YOU are the reason we keep coming back. May God bless you and keep you safe until we meet again. |

About Ben Stiller, apparently you can purchase a DVD set of the episodes from his show. I think they are around $20 but I'm not sure. I saw some on ebay, too. Perhaps at the next Gathering one of us can bring the DVD and we'll all watch it! Patrick, glad to hear you made it back safely. Thanks for coming such a long way!

It wasn't fun, was it??? Hope you all are feeling better by now.
Back to the mystery man. Do any of you recall the tall, thin, blonde beauty who accompanied our hunk in question?? She looked like a model. I wanted to accidentally bump her into the Swannanoa - you know, a gentle little "oops" over the deck railing!
Did I say that? |

Jayne, the slender blonde beauty who had the audacity to show up at the Bill Miller concert with our Vision is named Sherry. Unfortunately, Sherry and the Vision share the same residence and telephone number. I sincerely hope she is his sister. |

Aw shucks Jayne, from what I've been reading, the thought of bumping into the lady probably wasn't far from many a mind! |

What blonde-haired lady?
Well a Gathering casualty: I knew I had a muffler problem and was putting off having it repaired because it wasn't TOO loud yet. Saturday at the games I, er, made an attempt at 4-wheelin' in my little car that thinks it's a jeep. Anyway, I *thought* I heard something scrape the bottom and later it sounded like I was driving a WWII bomber. Yep, had to get a new muffler! Oh well, needed it anyway, but my off-road driving just made me have to repair it sooner! The funny thing is: after the man repaired it, he looked at me sorta funny and asked, "did you run over something?"
I also want to say a big thank you to Wilderness Woman, who sent some great stuff for the auction. How generous! So sorry you couldn't join us, but there's always next time.... Stephanie |

Sorry to hear about your car, Steph. I ran into a torrential rain driving through Atlanta...did a pretty good job of washing all the mud from my wheels and such.

Thanks, Steph. It was my pleasure. Jayne tells me that the Fashion Baby has taken yet another long journey! All the way to Germany, in company with Patrick-Powerdude. That is great! Patrick, I hope she makes a nice addition to your collection.

Hey Stephanie!
The muffler just "muffles" sound. I do not think it is an essential part of the car like for example the brakes.

Hey Stephanie and all, Here is the "vision" that I like to see when we go to Tahlequah. He has a beautiful smile. The woman in the picture with him is a very dear friend of mine. She was supposed to go to the Gathering with me this year, but unfortunately, her health wouldn't permit it. I would love to see your "vision of tallness", so make sure to go to SOTR and take pictures!!!

Stephanie, sorry I haven't been on board yet to report on the dinner with Ching and post some of my MANY pictures from the Great Gathering...BOTH of my computers are functioning as if they're being run by an energy source hooked up to a tired gerbil on a rusty wheel, so longer updates will be delayed slightly!!! BUT -- update on the keys -- YES, I got my keys back, Steph! I was despairing on ever seeing them again after finding out on Sunday nobody had found them at either the Cherokee museum or the theater, but I left my address with a nice guy at the admissions desk anyway. Well, guess what was in my mail yesterday??? MY KEYS...sent in a big, nice padded envelope from the Cherokee museum AND wrapped in at least three layers of bubble wrap and tape to keep them safe...all I can say is those are some NICE guys to send them and so well shipped. I want to hire the guy who shipped 'em to help me with my Ebay shipping! For those of you who don't know why the keys are an issue: I fell victim not once but TWICE to the annual "Mohican Gathering Key Curse" in which you either lock your keys in the car or lose them! I did BOTH ...locked em in the Jeep at the Joanne concert on Tuesday and then LOST em at Cherokee...BUT I was fortunate and had a spare pair so I was never left without transportation! I wish I knew who was responsible for finding em at Cherokee and shipping them so nicely...the guy deserves a batch of cookies or something! Christina |

Great news on your keys, Christina. I didn't know of the "locked-in-the-car" incident at the concert, though. Seems that syndrome runs in Diana's family...might be contagious, too, because at the un-Gathering I left mine on a bathroom stall hook.
All those we came in contact with in Cherokee were absolutely wonderful. It's no wonder of their thoroughness and generosity in returning the keys. I'm sure the address of the museum is somewhere, you could drop them a thank you note or something.
Looking forward to your Dinner with Russell account...please include all personalities there as I could never grow tired of your Flip description. |

Good to know you made it back safely, Ariel. Seems that you gave off some good-luck vibes to Christina while riding with her throughout the week...I figure with you meeting Russell the morning of the movie presentation must have rubbed off on Christina and gave her the opportunity to have dinner with him up close and personal...good job!! |

Well, folks, Stan and I have been reading all the posts-this being the first time we have checked it since getting home on Monday evening. We were also hit by the "bug" around 4 am Sunday morning, so our last day of vacation was spent in the RV moaning and groaning. Stan managed to buy the last bottle of medicine in Chimney Rock or Lake Lure. Apparently, the bug was hitting many in town. Well, enough of that.
The 2004 Gathering was a great one for us in spite of the rain. We enjoyed everyone's company and I especially enjoyed the Nolichucky this year, if you can believe that.
Cherie, we finally activated voice mail on our new cells and got your message!
