A couple of little things passed our way this week that I'd like to share with you. Here's somewhat of a Thought For The Day, for you ladies, at least!!

I think at least a few of you can relate to this, no?

Then, out of the San Francisco Chronicle, an article entitled, Forgotten Performances That Ought To Be Remembered, a couple of entries of note ...

2001 - Eric Schweig in Big Eden: Schweig turns his physically imposing Montana shopkeeper into a gay romantic ingénue, using his size to punctuate his character's longing.

1992 - Madeleine Stowe in The Last of the Mohicans: Stowe gave the most romantic performance of the decade, as an 18th century woman whose blood is stirred by the American frontier -- and by Daniel Day-Lewis. EMPHASIS ADDED - RF

The next Mohican Gathering is fast approaching ... for all the latest developments on this front, please see: 8-MONTH Gathering Update & Checklist!

UPCOMING: It would appear that Tim Cordell will have a new installment of From the Ramparts up on the site soon. I'm greatly looking forward to it, as always. You can review the past couple of years worth of entries - a potpourri of Fort William Henry related material - at FORT WILLIAM HENRY REPORT.

Plus, as we've blabbed about a bit before, Soldier #1, Curtis Gaston, is in the process of redoing his very early contribution to our site, The EYES OF SOLDIER # 1.

Besides the array of photos, Curtis will be rennovating the narrative & adding behind-the-scenes video footage of some of the goings-on. Promises to be good ... very. Now, somewhat of a snag, that figures to be fixed ... having a spot of trouble with the video format. I have uploaded the video sample to our server. You can try to access it and view it, but at my end, I've had no success. It plays locally, but not off the Internet, for some reason. If you are able to view it [you will need Real Player], do let me know. Here's the link: SAMPLE SOLDIER #1 VIDEO - Good luck!

We will get this worked out!!

NEW ON THE SITE: The latest segment from Rick Martinko, of what now appears to be at least a 10-part series ... TATTOO TANTALIZERS ... Part 8.

What?!? Wrong movie???? NAH!

This one deals with the Huron Village ...

One other small thing, the Classifieds Section of this Board has now been fixed to retain the ads for 365 days - unless you delete the ad sooner - so they will stop disappearing. Pretty bare right now, but if you have got something[s] to sell, or are searching for an item, utilize it. It's free! See CLASSIFIEDS.

And, that's all folks!

Rick,
How can you think for a minute that we might be getting bored with your Tattoo Tantalizers??? They are wonderful. If you'd ever been to a gathering, you'd see that we beg for any stories/information we can find on the filming. Just ask Eric Hurley! Please continue!

Hey Rich! Thought for the Day...the Night...the next Day...

As for the video, I can view it but it's incredibly blurry.

Thanks, Rick, for the newest Tattoo installment. I am truly enjoying your stories just as much as the photos. Looking forward to the next one.

... and, as Theresa said, it is viewable now. Since I didn't do anything to fix it, it must've been a server issue that is now resolved. Yes, the converstion to Real Media does tend to blur things. I've talked to Curtis about using MPEG format for this ... we'll see.
