Previous Report: 9-MONTH Gathering Update & Checklist!
Ok - only eight months now till the night before the 2004 Great Mohican Gathering! More importantly, it's only 2 and a half months till we begin the real-deal registration process ... that is planned to begin on January 3, 2004, and continue until sometime in mid-May. Let me repeat here something that I've often said before, but it is very important and warrants the repetition:
Please, register and pay your fees as early as you possibly can during this registration process. We urgently need the money to first make deposits to all the facilities that charge, i.e. Chimney Rock Park, USA Raft, Biltmore Estate ... plus pay Joanne Shenandoah, the String Beings, etc. ... and then, finally, make the rest of the payments later on. In addition, often times, expenses are incurred for printing, supplies, and other needs. It is really helpful if you pay up early!
We have not yet decided how we will go about this - whether it'll be "pay all at once" or a "piece-meal" deal. Thinking that over.
On many fronts, as reported before, things are in order. Here is a list of things that have changed in the past month:
- The Geneva continues to book. We expect to have an updated floor plan, indicating rooms already booked, up on the site in the near future. Do let Diana S. know of any bookings you make at the Geneva - OR, if you are seeking a roommate!
- Wes Studi has signed cook books & T-shirts and Ariel coordinator Jayne is in receipt of them!! If you have anything to donate, contact her!!
- It is possible that Eric Schweig will also be donating some personalized items!
- LOIN CLOTH NEEDED! - The idea has been floated to ask Wes to sign a loin cloth for Ariel's Auction. GREAT idea! If you've got an extra [preferably unworn] that you care to part with, let Jayne know about it.
- Program Guide - Mary G. is working on the cover as we speak. The other two Californian Piggies are planning a summit meeting in the near future.
- Coins For Chingachgook - HELP!!!!!! SOON!!!! An E-mail will be sent shortly to all of you on the mailing list with a possible alternative method. Remember, though, you don't have to be a Gatherer to assist in this.
- Joanne Shenandoah is now a definite performer. Booked!
- The Spirits on the River menu is updated, reflecting current pricing and selections. AT SIGN-UP [in January] you will be asked to order your dinner, so be prepared!
DON'T FORGET THE GENERAL RAFFLE! For donations/ideas, contact Cherie!
To date, here's who have actually signed-up via the pre-registration process. Hopefully, everyone followed the instructions and only submitted their names if seriously intending to come:
Melody & Ariana Farfan and Kathleen Broderick Donna and Alan Brown Allen and Diane Bunch Darlene Burns Dan and Rita Carroll Bill MacLeod and Ann Colby Cindy Rodgers and Kay Dennis - and possibly several friends which would up the numbers! Donna Deslauriers Pat Dietch [and Yogi, the dog] Linda, Kelli, Ian, and John Evans Rich Federici Paul Gunsaulies and April Ferguson Rachel Frey Rob Kruys and Mary Garland Teri and Stan Golden Adele Grandon Mary Graybill Ros Haddon Cherie and Marc Harbison Jenifer Huey Sharon and Eric Hurley Debbie Ho and Vince Kong Christina Knauss Joan and John Lambert Jamil

Thanks and I hope to hear from you soon....I do have an item that was mailed to me earlier this year, I am sorry but I don't remember who sent it. It is a Last of the Mohican childrens set with beads to make a wampum belt and etc.. I just wanted to let whoever sent it know that I do still have it and that it will be taken to this next gathering.

I'm sure that it will... Thank you for sending it, I will bring it down with anything else that I recieve. For those of you who are wondering. This fine lady wasn't going to be able to come to the gathering this year (ended up not having one) but wanted to help with the raffle anyway. If you would like to do that you can contact me and I will be glad to take it down with me. |
