Actually, Jeri & Nick...there is at least one more mention of Colonel Munro at the Huron camp, when Hawkeye is making his plea to the Sachem..."Let the children of the dead Munro go free..." I think if Alice had not figured out by THAT time that daddy lost his heart at Massacre Valley, surely that line would have sunk in...maybe...maybe not, given her state near catatonic of shock. At least, I choose to think she was aware enough to realize that there would be no help coming forth from Papa.
