I was watching the Huron village scene, where Duncan is translating into French, and Magua and the Sachem are speaking in French. There are a few things I can't quite understand, so I had the idea to play it in French with French subtitles. Well, there are no French subtitles, only English and Spanish, but when playing the DVD in French I found that what words were different! For instance, when played in English, Magua says to Nathaniel something like "You speak poison", but when played in French he says "your mouth is poison". There are others, too. Strange they should be different. So when you have nothing else to do, you might try comparing the French of the French version with the French of the English version. What you can do with that DVD never seems to end.

LOL. Only you, Fitz!

I have caught that before too. At first I thought I was hearing things.

I live in my own little world - but that's okay, they know me here!

I'm sure Fitz knows the difference between literal and figurative translation; and that French is a language especially liable to vagarities of translation, as George Washington no doubt discovered to his eventual dismay at Ft. Necessity!

I have always believed that George Washington know exactly what he was signing.

Nah, I think they all know me too well!

Why on earth would I ever want to subject myself to the sound of that ridiculously nasal language? If one can call it a "language."

Besides, I just discovered that there is another matter on which Miss-yer Lay-Fran-say and I disagree.

"It is more deeply stirring to my blood than any imaginings could possibly have been."
