You mean like Uncas should slap her around? Or Alice should put on this brain tanned leather outfit and borrow a whip? |

More romance between Alice and Uncas? Nay! And again, I say -- Nay!
How can you have more of something that never existed in the first place?

Which is all the more reason too add some 'n to spice it up! Still I will say NAY! The only person I want to see getting all up on Uncas is me! |

I'd have to say Nay! Yes, it would be great to see more romance from Uncas but why mess up a good thing. Besides, Light, he's mine and you know that! Keep your grubby paws off of him... |

You know when the Huron is about to slit open Cora's throat and Hawkeye comes bounding up to save her, well Chingy is the one to take Alice by the hand and lead her off to the canoes. Why on earth couldn't Uncas have been the one to take her by the hand and help her up and lead her to the canoes. Also couldn't they at least have had some dialogue together no matter how small it would be. Would have made more sense to me anyway. Just my humble opinion. A little bit of "interaction" would have been nice. |

Very true, Irish. I totally see your point. I often wondered why there wasn't a bit more dialogue between the two. And I remember seeing the movie for the first time and wondering why Chingy took her hand and not Uncas. So I'm right there with ya on that issue. |

Guess Uncas must have been the shy one He did not want to take a strange girl's hand. Still did not stop Hawkeye although, in all fairness, he had been "intimate" with Cora before that. |

Gotta agree with you on this one, MG! Been away for a while, and trying to catch up a bit... good to know some things never change! Kind of liked Irish's idea of "violent romance", and Fitz's scenario was pretty creative too (altho I'm not much into anything where any pain is actually inflicted)! Anyway, missed you all - and hoping to catch up more in the next week or so! |

Absolutely there needs to be more interaction. The first time I watched the movie I thought to myself, "What is that beautiful man doing running up that mountain and getting himself killed?" I didn't even really pick up that there was supposed to be something going on between Uncas and Alice. So, a bit more to make sense of the story without having to watch it several times would have been nice.
I'm not sure, but doesn't the script have Uncas take Alice away from the massacre?

Welcome back Redbird, you have been missed and yes the "violent romance" thing would be interesting. I personally like Fitz's idea that Uncas should slap Alice around or she should take the "whip" out to "play". Could turn LOTM into a whole other story. Come to think of it Cora needs to get "tough" with Hawkeye too and give him a few "lashes" with the whip. There is one guy for certain who would have "played it rough" with the women and that was manly Magua. He did drag them up the steep cliffs afterall with their hands bound. Now there was a guy who really knew how to "treat a lady". (kiddin' of course, before anyone jumps all over me) |

I would have to say Nay. At one time I thought that they should have played up the Uncas/Alice romance more, but the more I watch the movie, the more I think that Mann knew exactly what he was doing.

What we need to do if figure out how to talk the makers-of-DVD's into releasing a version with all the deleted scenes included and any behind the camera's type stuff. DVD's with those included are my favourite types to own.
