Snazzy, pink t-shirt huh? I wonder what Rick Santorum would say about that! What's wrong with having a battle? It was God,guns & guts that made this nation great. It sounds like this guy has no business down at Fort Pitt.He would be more at home at the Epherta Cloister Museum in the eastern part of Pa.which is Quaker affiliated. It was the Quaker dominated assembly that got many Pennsylvanians killed after Braddock's Defeat. There were few if any Provincial troops in the state, and the settlers were ill-prepared to defend themselves from attacks by the French & Indians.I wonder how the Virginian would handle our problem with Al-Queda,but I guess that is a topic for The Lion's Den. |

Everyone knows that the Colonial Fair was a bust because there was no battle. We can all thank "The Virginian" for that.He would like to see a world where no guns exist.I believe that such a place does exist, its called Never-Never Land.I don't know how one man can rewrite history and force it down everyone else's throat.I suggest that all of our readers write their elected officials to complain about what is going on down at Fort Pitt.
As far as my unit goes, they can leave, but I'm staying at Fort Pitt, even if I have to become a highlander. Not only has the 60th turned on their own, with the cliques that were formed within, but they have turned on the only people who tried to help them, the 42nd.While the BlackWatch, though newly formed, has won the respect of other groups,my unit is just the opposite. For our so-called leaders to believe the lies of "The Virginian"is tragic.

Hi Guys I see that we all are here right now. I'm also disappointed with this years Colonial Fair, I can understand why the sarge went to the beach instead. The only upside was that we got a couple of new recruits for the 42nd, and we got to share a drink with our new 'gun bunny' buds Matross Haden & Gunner Wilson.

There have been some posts recently, dating back a few months, which, in some instances, have crossed the line of propriety far enough to get the serious attention of the owner and Moderators of this forum. The offending individuals have been notified about their actions, and some improvement has been seen. However, there also have been attempts to circumvent the Moderators by individuals disguising themselves so as to hope to avoid detection. We have the ability to track and identify IP addresses.... and have been using it. Therefore attempts to disguise posts by using alternate email addresses, new user profiles, and changes in writing style are easily detectable.
This Board is privately owned and is moderated. This Board is NOT a Democracy. The Owner or his Moderators have the power to make judgments and decisions and enforce rules. That means Posts are read and judged as to whether or not they fall within the "Rules of Engagement" as stated in the Purpose. (www.mohicanpress.com/wwwboard/purpose.html) If they fail the test, they are edited or removed. Don't start screaming "First Amendment!" here...again: "This Board is NOT a democracy."
If the Moderators see there is a problem developing, you may hear from one or more of us with a gentle reminder to moderate a discussion or a request to cease and desist or to take something off list. That will be considered the first warning. Should the discussion continue after participants have been asked to take it off the board, the moderators have the ability to delete posts or even lock out those who continue to prolong an offending discussion.
Incivility will not be tolerated. Respect for another's viewpoints advances our ability to learn about our time period and makes the list a place where all members can post those viewpoints without fear of flame wars. Personal attacks, name calling, or condescension will not be allowed; lively discussion and respectful disagreement, however, are welcome.
Snide comments and private 'coded' side comments about 'the competition' or anyone else are unacceptable as well. Posts, which offer opinion or critique of venues or organizations, are of course welcome, but please consider the manner in which they are conveyed. That is the crux of this issue!
Belittling of others by assigning nicknames will not be tolerated.
Multi-personalities by one individual to make the appearance of support for a cause is misleading, deceitful and childish and attempts to inveigle further support from other board members. That practice will not be tolerated and will be exposed when found out.
Now…with all that said, all individuals that post in this forum are welcome and this post is in NO WAY an attempt to discourage participation by any one user. It is simply a little stronger warning being put forth, since an initial private one was rather ignored. If one feels the need to post anonymously, please do not create multiple profiles. This can only be construed as propagating a “Hidden Agenda”, a practice expressly prohibited by the Rules of Engagement (See above). This is a rich, active forum and we hope it can continue to be so!

Nicely said, ladies & gents - and I am in full agreement! We can't have potshots taken at will & deception is wrong, no matter how one slices it.
That all said, "multiple personalities" have been a part of the Mohican Board for almost as long as it has existed. It can be fun. The difference is that in the past it was known to all who these alternate egos were.
We have a forum up now - Bumppin' Round Bumppos - where this is encouraged. If that forum doesn't meet your needs, make that known. We'll accommodate.
Really, the "rules of engagement" are quite fair & allow for quite a bit of room to play. [Of course, I wrote them! Kidding, folks - just kidding!]
Hopefully, we can all carry on in trust & friendship & good-will.

Thank You Gathering Girl for the message you posted. Some of these posts that have been put on this forum are outright lies or contain incorrect information if you will and the "gentlemen" who posted them know that they are untruths. Personal attacks only make it harder for the good people involved with living history. Why not try to help instead of hinder? |

Perhaps it would assist the readers to know that you are on staff at Fort Pitt with an agenda? It would be good then to take your own advice and try to help instead of hinder |

Actually, I'm not on the staff at Ft. Pitt, I just keep my ears open for a good story now and then. You guys seem to tell a good one on occasion. |
