Why de Vaudreuil hesitated with attack on Englishmen in 1756? Why he has struck in end of a season of 1756?

Best regards,

For the answer to your question, might I suggest you purchase a copy of Fred Anderson's Crucible of War, which is the modern, and very much expanded, version of Parkman's Montcalm and Wolfe. Dr. Anderson has conducted extensive research into the Seven Years War, which includes reading many a journal from the key players. I do believe that you will not only be able to answer your 'Vaudreuil Question', but it will give you a more in-depth view into all theaters of operations from 1754-1763.

YMH&OS,
The Sarge

P.S.: Anderson's book is available in paperback, and on the used book section, at amazon.com, for around $10 USD.
