I've not looked at every single thread in this board............OMG.... that would take years.....lol
I'm just wondering where the discussions on Russell Means are?
He is one of the most beautiful Indian people I have ever seen II don't just mean on film, I mean as a person), and did play an important role in the movie, so I'm just wondering are there any fans of Russell here as well??????
I can go on for ever about Uncas or Eric but I would like to see if there are other Russell fans in here tooooooo???????

They are all there, but one. I, Chingachgook, Last of the Mohicans. |

Hi LeyLana - If you want to read the old discussions about Russell, use the 'Search' link up the top right of your screen (under the date and time), type in "russell" and choose the forums (even archived ones) and "bob's your uncle" there are all the russell-related threads!!
He does portray Chingachgook beautifully. He has a presence about him.
The only other info I know is that he wrote his autobiography in the mid-90s with Marvin J. Wolf: "Where White Men Fear to Tread: The Autobiography of Russell Means". I haven't had any luck finding it on this side of the world; let me know if you do.
Have you checked out his Treaty Productions' website, www.russellmeans.com? |

Hey Paazau
Thanks for that, not hard to see I'm not used to being on Forum Boards hey.
I was on his page today, very, very interesting.
You can get his book here but it is currently out of stock tho.
I have a wholesaler where I can get it, if you have an abn try Emporium Books, they are an online store.
He is a truly amazing person.
He's in Australia from April 1 to 15 but I've not been able to find out yet where.
I sent an email to the contact on his web page but no reply just yet.
I dare say he is probably doing Uni tours or something similar.
Makes me wish I was younger and still at school. It would be an honour, for me, just to be in the same room with that man. |

I totally agree about Russell and the amazing thing is he does look like he could be Uncas's father. There is a resemblance don't you think?? Someone did a great job with the casting of this movie. |

Ah! Too bad you couldn't have attended The 2004 Mohican Gathering! Russell was there & quite the guest! You could not only have been in the same room with him [a movie theater showing The Last of the Mohicans no less!], but have spent the whole next day with him out on a remote shooting range complete with games, cook-out, and live music! That was a very good day! |

That sure sounds like it would have been a lot of fun. Just to see the movie in a movie theater would have been great, but to see it with Russell and then have the opportunity to spend the next day with him, just amazing. I am sure he is such a nice man in real life.
Just wondering if Eric has ever been to any of the Gatherings and if so when? I would do anything to see him in person. |

Most recently I spied Russell in a movie length Thomas the Tank Engine (I have a 3 yr old nephew that eats, sleeps, and breathes Thomas) called Thomas and the Magic ??? something or other. Russell plays Billy the Engineer along with Alec Baldwin as the conductor. I about fell off the couch when I spotted him "driving" that train!!!!

Thomas and the Magic Railroad. I have seven grandchildren, three great-granchildren, and six nephews and nieces, so I have seen Thomas a time or two. I haven't seen this one but have heard of it. I sure didn't know that Russell starred in it. Thanks for the info GG

I was browsing IMDB the other day and discovered that Russell Means has a couple of new projects in the works, slated for release in 2007. Here's the scoop, if you want it:
"Unearthed": After a sinister crash on the highway in a small New Mexican town, people start disappearing and animals and nature begin dying. The Sheriff (NOT Russell Means) investigates, only to witness a killer creature, and realizes that the creature is the reason for the disappearances and deaths. After surviving an attack, The Sheriff and others try to survive the creature and being killed.
Then there's "Pathfinder": A Viking boy (Karl Urban of LOTR fame) is left behind after his clan battles a Native American tribe. Raised within the tribe, he ultimately becomes their savoir in a fight against the Norsemen.
Don't know how much of a part RM will have in either of these movies, but they're worth checking out if you're a die-hard RM fan and don't mind kitschy horror or hero-type films. |

Unearthed sounds like a Laura K. Hamilton book I read. Part of the Anita Blake series called Obsidian Butterfly. In that book it was a dragon owned by vampires. It dwelled underground and had somehow found an exit to and from a remote area. Pretty cool series, I liked this book in particular. Any Paranorma/Lynchathrope fans check it out. Series begins with Guilty Pleasures. |
