Is there anybody out there that knows anything about Hanging Rock? Are there any inexpensive motels around? My son wants to go up there this weekend. Any help would be appreciated. In the meantime, I will be scouring the web for any info.

Fitz,
I was in a hurry and neglected to mention that it was North Carolina that I was talking about. I didn't even know that there was a Hanging Rock S.C. My son wants to go up there to take some pictures. He really wants some photos of waterfalls and I told him that he needed to go to Chimney Rock and area, but he is bound and determined to go to Hanging Rock, N.C. In fact, I think that there must be a couple of Hanging Rock's in N.C., but the one that he wants to go to is above Greensboro.

| The Hanging Rock in SC is the "Battle of Hanging Rock", Aug. 6, 1780. This will be the 225th anniversary of the Battle. Before the battle there was talk of a truce with Britain. The battle ended that talk for good. |

Last night I googled until I couldn't google any more!!!  '
I found the site that you sent, but I was looking for hotel or motel for him to stay in. It seems like all they have around the park is either cabins or B&B's. The cabins they rent out weekly and he is only going to be there for two nights and the B&B's are too expensive. I told him that he was going to have to either stay in Pilot Mountain or King N.C. There simply are no hotels closer than King. If there are, I sure can't find them, and then there is only one and it is an Econolodge.
I appreciate you looking for me. I was just hoping that someone had been up to Hanging Rock State Park and could give me some tips about where he could stay at a reasonable price.
