Well first off, I would like you all to know that it is reassuring to know there are others out there who obsess about this movie as much as I do. Mainly for the reason that it just is not possible to have a better love story than that of Uncas and Alice...even Romeo and Juliet had to at least speak to each other to profess their love...Uncas and Alice had an unspoken bond.
OK, I had to get that out, now to the reason for the post. I have read a few blooper posts, and I haven't noticed if anyone has ever mentioned this one. At the final scene, immediately before Chingachgook says his final words, the camera scans the horizon...if you look off in the distance, you can see what appears to be trails on a ski mountain (it is summer so they are hard to see). If anyone else has noticed this I would love to hear commments.
Cheers, Mike

I can't remember if the final scene was shot at Linville or Chimney Rock, but in either case, there are no ski trails in the vicinity.

Mike, it's awesome that you obsess about the movie as well. I know I do. lol. Yea, I TOTALLY agree with what you said about Uncas and Alice. Ski trails?? Hmm, never noticed that blooper. I'll just watch LOTM again. :)

Mike, the final scene that you speak of was filmed at Table Rock Mountain, overlooking Linville Gorge - a bear sanctuary & National Wilderness Area - No ski trails in the vicinity that I am aware of. Will have to take another look ...

OK, well if you know exactly where it was filmed and there are no ski trails in the vicinity, then they probably aren't ski trails. I've looked at it again, and it might just be the way the sun hits this one mountain on the right side of the screen.
Thanks for all the input,

That's OK ... I watched the movie last night & specifically looked for ski trails .... Nada. Looking out over Linville Gorge, there are no ski trails. It's wilderness.
