Poll Question:
It matters not whether you've been to all five Gatherings or nary a one. Based on what you've read, heard, thought about, or experienced [of course], which Gathering would you have attended if you could have attended but one?

Choices:

First - 1998
Second - 1999
Third - 2000
Fourth - 2001
Fifth - 2002

Kinda an unfair question, yes? I mean the first was the first, and the fifth was most recent - the second had Eric Schweig, the fourth Wes Studi. Poor #3 - all alone in the middle. Actually, though it's not the one I voted for, it was really very good! A peaceful affair from my perspective ... From a "general" Gatherer's perspective, I would think that #4 was the best ... seemed to have it all! But, it sure was big!

Well...#3 was my first gathering, so will always have special memories for me, and in some ways I enjoyed it more than #4...Bear Den Cabins provided us with SO many laughs and good memories...and as you say, #4 was a very BIG affair...maybe a little too big for me! Saying that, it therefore makes sense that I opted for #1, I would have liked to have been there for the start of it all, with the smaller group and the informal arrangements...and I think I would have liked the 'experience' of Camerons Cabin! I have to say though, that bearing in mind Bill Miller, the Nolichucky...and the fact that it was the first gathering I missed since my first....and therefore my first experience of sitting home knowing what y'all were doing......#5 was definitely a close runner-up!
