Anyone interested in bidding on any of the props replicas has but 3 more days to do so ... Results will be announced shortly after June 23.

See: LOTM Props Display

You've probably noticed, but just in case, we'll let you know we've added our Events Calendar feature to the Board. Any logged-in registered user can add an Event to the calendar. All we ask is that you use it responsibly, trying to keep the event or announcement somewhat related to ... well, LOTM, of course! That might be, but certainly is not limited to, re-enactment events, new movie release dates, TV listings, site-related news ... Related to LOTM means: film, book, era [colonial, Native, European, history], web site, cast & crew, etc. ... 6 degrees.

And, we're almost at Gathering Time! We had a teensy-weensy little chat last evening [Ilse, Pat, Diane B., Theresa, & I] where we learned that I am attracted to Great Danes, who Yogi really is, and other top secret info! So sorry you missed it! Those of you attending the Gathering, I'll be seeing you very soon; those who aren't ... well, I wish you were, but will do my best to keep you posted - with words & pictures - as the event unfolds.

Missing the Gathering two years in a row is too much!

Hmmm ... I don't know know. I read your post on IE. Shut that down, and came back on Netscape - albeit Netscape 6.2 - everything's fine, and everything has been fine. The Events Calendar modification is pretty much a stand-alone add-on. Just upload the files & create a link on the default page [unlike my next little project: the Poll Add-On! ] There's a smiley for you!

Here's what they say in the "developer" & "code writing" forums ... Netscape 4+ is ancient. Modern-day HTML sophistication uses ASP [like here - that's Active Server Pages] & XML. The old Netscape just doesn't keep up. Now, Netscape 6, though still a little quirky to my liking, is very similar, results-wise anyway, to IE. I know how you feel. I was an avid Netscape user - swore I'd never switch - till about a year or so ago. Finally, I gave in. It was getting too frustrating.

I have no Earthly idea why Netscape keeps two seperate browsers going - well, I guess it's 'cause the engines that run them are so different - but it would have been nice if going from 4+ to 6 was simply an upgrade, instead of a whole new deal. Last week, though, I downloaded Netscape 6.2.3 [without Java!] - which imported all the bookmarks, addresses, and other settings [though, I somehow inadvertantly managed to lose the E-mails]. It ran fine, especially after I downloaded the midi plug-in, and I proceeded to banish - forever more - Netscape 4 from my system.

To make a long story short, I strongly doubt the Events Calendar has anything to do with your problem, but I would give in & upgrade! IE 6 or Netscape 6 ... or both! Hey, they're free!!

PS - Don't know this first hand, but I hear the Mozilla browser is very good & similar to Netscape. You might try that - where to find it, I don't know, but a search ought to do it

PPS - Just did a "Preview" - on Netscape - worked fine!

I use two computers, one at home and one at work. I downloaded Netscape 7.0 Preview Release 1 on my work computer, full Java, etc. Now Netscape 6.2 will not work on that computer, and neither will 7.0! IE 6.0 will, so I use it. I downloaded some "popup stoppers" on my home computer and now IE 6.0 will not work on it. So in the not-to-distant future I am in for two operating system reloads. If you are happy with what you have, you might better keep it. Anyway, ASP is based on Microsoft VB Script, which probably explains why Netscape doesn't like it.

Thanks for your response, Rich! Well, I have Netscape 4.7 which I upgraded a few weeks ago .It was a big pain and as you know my mailbox got lost. I also have space problems as I have an older computer. For me to download 6.0 on my old dinosaur would take me basically an hour if not more to download. Since I don't have cable and limited access I decided not to upgrade..:(
Everything was fine until the calendar. I know that for a fact.. Now it only loads the History Channel thingie,it lets me know that I am on the page but the table with the subjects does not load. In brief: it doesn't want to load the full page..Sniff.
Obviously I am on IE now but it lets me know that there is a security problem and I would have to download a virtual module machine.. Oh well, it looks like no more smileys for me or all the other fancy stuff.

Bea, I run IE5.

Why is it you can't use smilies Or the fancy stuff

(I just realized you can press on the smilie to get it to auto-enter)

BTW Rich, having the "Reset Fields" button next to the preview button is very dangerous! Glad it wasn't a long post I wiped out.

Hmm...those little buttons word from Java scripts. (Not that I really know what that means.) Do you have javascript enabled on your browser?

As a last resort, the smilies are listed in the FAQ's, and you can always type in the code.
