Ok, April Fools. But seriously, now that I have your attention, we need someone to help coordinate this worthwhile part of the Gathering. Doing something for others gives a deeper meaning to the Gathering, and it would be a tragedy to let this go undone. Please volunteer to help out! Someone is needed to help set up the auction items, create and maintain the bidding sheets, and announce the winners at the end. Some work involved, but fun and *rewarding* knowing that you are doing something good for someone else. Who will step up to the plate to keep this Gathering tradition alive?

I hate to see this plea so empty. I am willing to help all I can, but Steph you know I not very good at coordinating things. I am certainly adequate at helping AT the gathering, just not good at the before the gathering stuff. With 3 bulging cervical discs, I have good days and bad (much better than they were Thank Goodness) and have to limit computer time (the thing that makes things hurt the most).
Could I please Someone's HELPER?????
Not only is the reason for having the auctions terrific, but you can take home some UNBELIEVABLY cool stuff!!!!!
I will definitely be donating a NC basket this year, and hopefully some hand-knitted washcloths. |

Greetings everyone,
I have decided to step over and take over the lead of handling Ariel's Auction for our planned Mohican Gathering from 6/18 - 6/22. If you have an item of interest for the auction or raffle, you can email me at gi_kyo@yahoo.com You can bring them along, or you can send them directly to Stephanie, that way when you travel you won't have to carry them, they'll already be here. Stephanie's address is below. Looking forward to having a wonderful Gathering.
With Honor and Namaste,
Patrick Quinn

That is fantastic news, Patrick! Thank you for stepping up for a very good cause and Gathering tradition! |

Thank you, Patrick! I know you will find your duties rewarding. You have been a big supporter of the auction in the past, and I know your enthusiasm will make this year's auction a success!
Now, everyone start thinking about what you can donate to the auction. We have had some very nice items in the past. I recall some collectible memorabilia, period clothing pieces, some really nice things! In 2006 I had my eye on a beautiful wool cape donated by Jayne and Karen that would have been appropriate for 18th or 19th century reenacting, and imagine my dismay when I was outbid! Those sneaky Batliners outbid me, then gave me the cape as a gift!!!!! That was so generous and thoughtful of them, and I ended up with a wonderful cape that I use a lot, and the money went to a great cause. This auction can be a lot of fun and very rewarding in so many ways! :-) |
