For the first time, in a long time, I didn't open Front Page ... not once all week. That means I didn't work on the web site, not even for a minute. That is rare ...
I did do some chores here, though ...
New Board Functions:
Hide E-mail: By going in your Profile, you can, if you so choose, elect to hide your E-mail address from public view. The main purpose in doing so might be to prevent E-mail "harvesting" by spammers. Doing so would also have the negative effect of disallowing other posters from E-mailing you directly from the Board by clicking on your E-mail icon ... [at least I think that's a negative!  ] ... You can still use the Private Messaging feature, however, as that doesn't operate by E-mail address.
Flood Control: You won't notice this one, unless you're about to double post within the specified period of time. [which I can adjust, if need be] This feature disallows posts from the same poster within a certain time-frame ... helps prevent spammers from "flooding" the Board - hence the name - and aids in preventing double posts. Period right now is set at 60 seconds.
Other Stuff: I know that few notice this stuff, but here's some other things I fixed up around here:
- Forums spanning more than a page had a reddish bar just before the page numbers that wasn't supposed to be there - GONE!
- I added links to the Navigation area, and rearranged them so that it made more sense [to me!]
- Took out the "number of posts" from displaying in the posts. Any feedback on this? Can revert if the outcry is loud enough!
 - There was a double instance of "Send Topic To A Friend" ... REMOVED!
- Archived "Thought For The Day" - That'll be done regularly. To access Archives, be logged on & click on the Archived Folder icon in the "Thought For The Day" forum - on the main page of this Board.
Still Working On: Allowing the top posts in the "Gathering Gossip" forum to appear on the Gathering Pages and a "Jump to the last post" in a thread link on all topics.
Regarding the Gathering: Page not updated to reflect this, but a couple of volunteers have come forward ... freely. Honest! I didn't have to drag 'em! Mary Garland has again taken on the Program Guide [helpers still needed] and Diana Strickland will coordinate the lodging, if no one else comes forward to do so. Thanks to all who volunteer for this stuff!
