Morning ...
As some of you know, several times a year I am called upon to unleash my vast stores of Postal knowledge and teach a week long class in Asheville for new Window Clerks. This past week was one such week. Interesting, to say the least. Necessarily, on those weeks, very little, if anything, gets done around here. That applies this time!
No Gathering news or changes ...
No Coins For Chingachgook news or changes ...
Nothing of note new on the web site ...
AH, though, made progress on the book. Proof in hand ... needs work ... new .pdf version version uploaded [with some revisions]
Perhaps - and I've never really tracked this on a weekly basis - this was the busiest week, though, in terms of visitation EVER! We broke the record for single day visitation two days in a row - Monday & Tuesday - and every day was quite busy. The Record ... So, while I was absorbed with detailing the wonderful & exciting world of certified mail to wide-eyed & eager students, other folks, it would appear, kept their eyes fixed on their duty! Good for them!

Uh... ELECTRIC WENCH??????? It couldn't be those little Taiwanese chaps back to try and sell those 'hoists' they couldn't download on us last time?????? Hmmmmmmm... Perhaps someone is of the opinion that Cora and/or Alice could possibly make good... no... they couldn't be classed as 'electric' - or COULD THEY?????
Howsever... as for the part of your Post dealing with the 'C' word, then... believe me, I know how scary that is!! So, should your Posters who are in this position, be reading this post this morning, I say to you, THERE CAN BE WONDERFUL SUCCESS STORIES!! As Wilderness Woman says, be of good cheer, think 'positive' thoughts and - (my own advice) take one day at a time. Don't worry about what CAN POSSIBLY happen - just take one day at a time, work with what's happening now, and worry about tomorrow - tomorrow.
There are SO MANY good treatments, drugs and therapies now. This condition is NOT the sceeeery thing that it used to be! Medical treatments have changed TREMENDOUSLY in just a couple of years - it's now possible (and okay!) to be REALLY HOPEFUL! So... just 'work with today' and be positive. It's not always as easy as it sounds, I know. But... it CAN help.
Thinking of our friends, sending warm, positive thoughts out and believing that things will work out for the best!
Love, Kate. |

Good words, ladies ...
As usual, mine weren't so ... to clarify:
The LATTER person - that who is quoted & actually HAS the dreaded disease - has not posted here within the past few months - that I recall, anyway.
The other 2 are frequent visitors ...

So sorry to hear that three Mohicanlanders are facing the possiblity of and/or are dealing with the dreaded "C" word, a word that my family and I have had much too much experience in the past decade or so... Let me just echo Miss Katie's sentiments: there ARE wonderful treatment and medications out there, as well as a mountain of knowledge. The "one day at a time" approach is a MUST both for the patient and the family. And take it from me, miracles do happen every day. I have a couple of friends and relatives who are walking, talking proof of that every day. Most key thing to remember: you are never alone. Those who know and love you will have you in their thoughts and prayers, and God will be watching...no matter what happens. at the most difficult times, you will find His hand and work in evidence. I'm praying and thinking about all of you. peace and love, Christina |
