Good morning, folks -
Out of curiosity, I just downloaded the .pdf version of On the Trail of the Last of the Mohicans ... the Expanded Edition from the site to see how long it took to complete. I guess it was about half an hour on my slow dial-up connection. So, you can begin the download then go take a shower or grab a bite to eat. When you return to your computer, there she'll be ... and you can save it and have it right there - or, even print it out. Download it HERE. Again, you need Adobe Reader on your system for this format. Most of you probably have it, but, if not, it's available as a free download at www.adobe.com - Order a hard copy of the book HERE.
Alrighty then ... Visitation ... WOW! Just keeps on keepin' on! This past week, for example, Monday-Thursday we reached over 3100 unique visitors each day, and as high as 3400+. Friday, dipped down to about 2800, then on Saturday - the slow day - we reached just over 2500 - very good for a Saturday! Today, we'll do a little better ...
Gathering Stuff: Moving right along ... Presently, we're up to 58 officially signed-up [including some long lost Gatherers I am most happy to welcome back!!], with several more, at least, that I know will be signing up ... Figure some last minute sign-ups, as well, and we'll probably end up in the area of 70 total - not a bad figure. In fact, for trail, caravan, and movie theater purposes ... a very good figure. Very workable. You can see a usually up-to-the-minute listing at: The List of 2004 Gathering Attendees!
If you want to sign-up, go RIGHT HERE! It is shaping up as a very - shall we say - lively group!
The Coins for Chingachgook project has met with moderate success - it's doable, at least, but as many of you know, we're going to keep it up & running for the duration, with one major change - raffle tickets are now $10 each [unlimited quantities] - since we have the major portion collected already. YOU NEED NOT BE PRESENT TO WIN! [Of course, you won't be able to dine with Russell - we'll pick another winner for that portion of the prize, in that case - but you can still win the rest of the Bundle!]
Another thing open to all, not just Gatherers, is the Gathering raffle - both Ariel's Auction & the General Raffle. All items are welcomed for donations, particularly LOTM or period-themed items. Remember the Six Degrees Code & you'll have no trouble. But really, anything goes. One popular item in 2002 were State-themed baskets. Could be Country or region, or ethnic-themed, as well. Just some ideas ... If you'd like to donate to Ariel's Auction, contact Jayne. All proceeds go directly to Ariel & her family. We usually raise about $1500 in US funds. The General Raffle, used to help defray costs either this year or next or both, is being run by Cherie. So, if you want to be a part of things, but cannot attend, contact one or both of these fine lasses!
Something else has come up - I will run a Poll on it a bit later.
Other Stuff: Some posts made during the week that could have been a part of this Update, and so they will ... if you've missed 'em ...
