Good morning,
For the benefit of those who never received their E-mail [I noticed a lot of Hotmail addresses bounced back], here's a repeat of an important announcement!
Gonna run this by you one last time as a few of you, at least, weren't clear as to what I meant.
We will be cleaning out the Mohican Board database of inactive registered users. Here's what I mean:
1 - If you've ever posted on the NEW Mohican Board [begun on 5/17/02], you are "safe" and need do nothing.
2 - If you've been a registered member for less than 6 months, you are "safe" and need do nothing.
3 - If you are a registered member, have never posted, and have failed to log on in the past 6 months then your account will be deleted.
To avoid that, simply visit & log on. That simple. Once every 6 months.
We will begin this process on Monday, June 23. If you find yourself "deleted" and want to revert, just re-register.
OK?
In addition, the time will come soon when we will be converting the database to a quicker & more efficient format, SQL [rather than the present Access 2000]. This will necessitate a temporary closing of the board, but we'll notify you of that prior to the upgrade.
One new thing - minor - added to the Board: If you enter any forum [that'd be forum.asp in your browser's address bar] or if you use Active Topics [that'd be active.asp in your browser's address bar] you'll notice this: Tale first spun on followed by the thread's begin date adjoining each topic. That indicates the thread's first posting, as opposed to the date that appears next to the Jump to Last Post arrow, which is the date of the most recent posting in the thread.
So, Gathering 2004 continues to rapidly fill. At last count, we can project that there are but 29 seats available at the movie theater Friday night. You had better make that decision to SIGN-ON!
Gotta run! Have some shootin' to do!! Hopefully, on the morrow, will have a pic or two to post! Oh, in the other thread [Remnants of Gathering 2003] that photo was e-mailed to me by Steph - she ain't really dead!  - I wasn't there - couldn't bear to watch!

One thing that I forgot to mention:
No longer can you subscribe to the entire board [to receive E-mail notification of new postings] - that link is gone. Too many folks were getting confused, thinking that by subscribing to that they were on the newsletter list or vice-versa. Hopefully, this will lessen the confusion. Now the highest level you may subscribe to is by category.
Subscribing to the newsletter really has nothing to do with the board itself. It merely gets you the newsletter ...
