Thursday February 2nd, 2006 The Killer awoke before dawn, he put his Sirius Radio on and couldn't beleive what he heard . No not at all, he started dancing to that fine fine music you know his life was saved by rock & roll... The Novaks Goodbye Rock & Roll Band, and that band was The Dictators led by the fesrless Handsome Dick Manitoba doing "Teengeneret" while Grahm Parker who must be hanging out with Dave Davies was "Waiting for the UFO's" to land, along with Billy Lee Riley and his " Flying Saucers Rock & Roll " ( also covered by Robert ( Rockabilly ) Gordon, Harry Nilsson brought me back to the 70's and driving around in my Chevy Vega with my speakers vibrating from the drums on his " Jump in to the Fire ", The Supersuckers out of Austin Texas " Shook it off ", to the tune of Lou Reed Live doing the Velvet Underground klassic, " Rock & Roll" from Rock & Roll Animal, speaking of animals from Elephant the White Stripes best effort came " BLACK MATH " with some heavy primitive drumming from the petite Meg White on drums, wearing those " Slit Skirts " Peter Townshend likes to sing about I'm sure, but is he as Jethro Tull asked is he " Too Old to Rock & Roll but Too Young to Die " maybe at the rate he's going...The KinKs still young enough to rock & roll with " It's Alright " that they were pulling out of their hats during their last Amercan tour in 95, and more brothers The Everly Brothers did " Walk Right Back ", to Freddie Boom Boom Cannon and his " Tallahassie Lassie ", feeding the all girl hard rocking band The Charms doing DBID, and they were so sweet that the StrangeLoves proclaimed " I WANT CANDY " only to have Bow Wow Wow take that away from them in the early 80's and remake it in to a new wave screamer of the week as the old WLIR use to say, The Rascals doing their best James Brown imitation on " Come on Up ", Jan and Dean on La La Land doing La La La Linda, and the Sex Pistols snarling about their record deal on " EMI ", followed by more snotty snarling from Oasis in the "Swamp Song", looking for their " Lady Jane " from the Stones, who in turn looked for " Little Sister " as done by the King Elvis himself who Robert Plant ( and the Honeydrippers ) picked up on at some live festival back in the 80's sometime and it got considerable radio airplay when commercial rock radio still had some balls left in it?, now you'd be lucky to even find the Cirkle Jerks and their "Red Rubber Ball" anywhere around the Dial, it is a sad turn down day or as Don McClean said, The Day the music died, and the anniverrsary of that day is tomorrow isn't it? and so is the birthday of our beloved guitar hero David Russell Gordon Davies who we all wish Better Things and the bluest skies to and hope to see him play live soon, because as the Bad Company song " Live for the Music " goes and some of us all do, while we try to give it everything we got and stay off the " Pills " and away from the rock and roll nurse that The NY Dolls keep complainging about, ...The rock and roll nurse is making me worse, but that song always makes me feel a whole lot better when your gone, Don't ever change Don't ever change from the way that you are now If you ever change I would be sad 'cause I wanted you just as you are Don't you ever change now Always be the same now No, don't ever change from the way that you were Last night Don't ever change What can you prove if you're changing your ways to me? Please don't ever change Please don't be blind 'cause I need you can't you see? Don't you ever change now Always be the same now No, don't ever change from the way that you were Last night Don't ever change Don't ever change, I'd be sad And I would cry If you leave me Don't ever leave me so when the music's over turn out the light because... Big Star " Feel " I'm Outta here. - FranK

The weekend rock and roll report; Before going to Sirius radio let me say my email into FUV Listener sponsored radio got me mentioned on the air Friday morning and also about Dave's birthday before they launced into Low Budget, then on to Sirius Radio, The morning Martin Lewis show also got an email from yours truely Confused and mentioned Dave's Birthday and me, then played " I'm Not Like Everybody Else " for both me and Dave. Later he alsp played ' The Morning After" Now for the rest of the Sirius radio report... Drummers prevailed when I heard Led Zeppelin's " Bonzo's Montreux " a nice change of pace to Moby Dick, Piper the Boston based band from the 70's did the guttery garagey " Out of Control " featuring Billy Squire on vocals and guitar before his sole career broke out, followd by another garagey band and song " Two Tub Man " fromthe Dictators featuring Handsome Dic_k Manitoba, One of my all time favorite Neil Young Songs " The Loner " was finally played on the radio. "The Loner " was originally only released on The Warner Reprise double promo album that you could buy for 2$ arounf 1969 through the mail, and at that time it also was the only place you could find The KinKs " When I turn out the Living Room Light " among some other great rarities from Ed Sanders of the Fugs, The GTO's, Wild Man Fisher, The Electric Prunes, and much more too. Onward to more radio waves, I also heard Zombina and the Sleletones souding very B52'ish as in Planet Claire, with their song Red Planet, Ryan Adams with a rocker of a song that hits home with me called " Note to myself don't die ", Now get this Agent 99 the late Barbara Feldon had a one hit wonder released called " 99 " and beleive it or not I did hear this. After hearing Soupy Sales " Do the Mouse " I guess anything is possible? The Beatles with George on Lead doing the Carl Perkins inspired " Everybody's Trying to be my Baby " from Beatles 65, followed by the original Mr. Perkins version himself. It's amazing how influenced George was by Carl Perkins in the early Beatles years!. Say what you want about Courtney Love but her band Hole but did some of of the best live rock shows I ever saw and when I heard Celebrity Skin come on the radio I said damn sit's such a shame her career has gone down the sewer because she made such edgey good rock & roll. Britney Fox the 80's glam hair band who paid their tribute to Noddy Holder and Slade along with Quiet Riot did " Girlschool " which had one of the best MTV videos of the early 80's along with Great Whites Mott the Hoople Cover of " Once Bitten Twice Shy ", both these videos got my vote for having the hottest looking girls in music videos. ( J Geils Centerfold came in 3rd ),...Wilco did one of their songs that I should have written years ago called " She fell in love with my drummer " again referencing Mott the Hooples Once bitten Quite Shy about a groupie messing with drummer. For a while in the late 60's and early 70's drummers always got the best groupies, I should know? A new Fuzztones song called " All the Kings Men " had a good trace of The Stones Paint it Black in there, An unusal RAMONES song called " Questioningly " but any RAMONES song is better than No RAMONES song to me...The Anderson Council " Never stop being 67 " had a healthy mix of the Beatles and the Byrds, The Who with a rarity called " Circles ", The Sir Douglas Quintet " She's About a Mover ", The Troggs " Feels Like A Woman ", does anybody remember Genya Raven? She has one the most powerful blues infested voices in all of rock n roll giving Janis Joplin and Melissa Ethridge a run for their money, here I heard her doing " The Knight ain't Long Enough "...reminding me of the very unknown band called Zephyr who also had this girl fronting the band with a voice of equal power and range but never got any recognition. The Big Bopper himself Gene Vincent rockabillying along with " Bi Bickey Bi Bo Bo Bo Go "...now we all should know where Be Bop a Lu La came from and even more so a 3 Stooges song from one of their shorty TV series shows fearturing a scene where they are professors pointing to a black board singing this ridiculous song Bi I Bickey Bo...well I'll bet Gene Vincent saw that episode as a kid??? Once again I heard this version of Louie Louie by Robert Plant that I don't where it comes from. Anybody? The vocals sound like from Pre Zeppelin Days and the rythem guitar riff sounds very much like Dave's from studio version of All Day and All of the Night??? Then a mid 80's under rated New Jersey band called The Feelies also did their version of Louie Louie too. OK that's it for this edition of I'm not out of your mind I'm out of mine though... and I'm outta here too - Frank

It's been a long weekend and week of serious rock & roll on Sirius radio...A blast from the past was heard " Peace by Peace " by one of Jim Lispesa's ( Drummer for Dave Davies band ) favorite obscure groups Crabby Appleton, a band which I liked a lot myself too and have their 2 Elektra albums fom 1970/71....Demolition 23 with " Scum Lives On " where they pay tribute to some of my favorite rock heroes like Bon Scott, Rob & Tyner of the MC5,...The Seeds doing a song " Can't Seem to make you mine " that RAMONES put their stamp on on their cover album ACIDEATERS,...Elvis Costello sounding like the Smithereens with " Tear off your Own Head "...Oingo Boingo " Only a Lad " , Depeche Mode with what I am always complaining about " Just Can't Get Enough ", All Tomorrows Party who I think are a 3 piece Japanese band sounding like The Stooges meet Focus doing Hokus Pokus minus the yodeling with a song called " Light of Love ",...New Jersey's own GripWeeds with " Love's Lost on You " with my freind Kurt on drums doinghis best Keith Moon imitation, KO and The Knockouts with " Twisting Postman ",...The Marmalade with the Beatlish " I see the Rain " and if I am correct this band also covered " Obladi Oblada " many years ago too??? am I correct about this??? Let me know. The Rascals with the soulful " I ain't gonna eat out my heart anymore ", Handsome •••• Manitoba and the Dictators with " Stay With Me " which always has me singing along at the top of my lungs like a RAMONES song would!,....The Chesterfield Kings singing about a cool Shelby 356, they are one good band and also covered The KinKs " Live Life " on a Kinks tribute album some years ago,...Mick Jagger solo doing " Put me in the trash "???Where did this come from? SteppponWolf Godamn " The Pusher Man " , never loses its appeal, ...same for Muddie Waters " Hootchie Coochie Man ",...Randy and the Rainbows doing one of my all time favorite pre Bristish invasion songs " Denise " which Blondie covered several years ago and did a great job with it, like it was written for Debbie to sing! The Strokes with a great new album and song " You Only live once " and they are proving they are not a one hit or one CD wonder band like so many of these other bands of the moment tend to be, The Strokes know what it means to be a rock & roll band, lucky for them they are in one otherwise life is deplorable if you are not, I should know???,...The Hollies with STOP STOP STOP, The RAMONES, I WANNA BE YOUR BOYFRIEND, Peter Townshend doing a solo version with band of " Won't Get Fooled Again ",...The Woggles a band to watch out for doing " Somerhting to Believe in " go see the Woggles if they play by you!!!,...The Waldos too.., and then The GREAT ARTHUR LEE AND LOVE DOING " 7 & 7 IS ", I can not say enough good things about LOVE, they are one of the most misunderstood and underated bands of all time. THEY ARE ONE OF MY ALL TIME TOP 10 BANDS! Traffic doing " Hole in My Shoe " sounding very Beatle Geroge Harrisonish on this one,...The Guru's doing " Big Sea " sounding like The Byrds meet the Smithereens,...Credence Clearwater Revial doing a favorite of mine " Keep on Chooglin' ", except for Cosmos Factory the first 2 Credence albums are my favorites, The late Great Otis Redding doing " That's How strong my love is " talk about a man with sould, Eric Burdon as soulful and great as he is would bow down to Otis I'm sure,...The Byrds with " Renaissance Fair " just capturing that late 60's time period so perfectly,...Chris Farlowe with the song that got the Stones Rolling " Out of Time ",...The Replacements " Little Mascara ",...and the eternal Lonley Teenager in Love Dion himself doing " Lonely Teenager ", and speaking of Teenagers The fast rocking and great MC5 with " Teenage Lust " from their amerikan rocking " Back in the USA " 2nd album...Hendrix doing a blues cover with " Mannish Boy ",...Teenage Fan Club, Metal Baby, Wilco " I'm trying to break your heart ", and last but not least the The kinKs doing " I gotta Move " sounding like the theme song for the Maynard G. Krebs Hipsters Society, because it just sounds so cool on the radio doesn't it. Now tell me where can you hear stuff like this on commercial radio? You can't? That's my point. I'm Outta here....

A short but sweet Sirius Radio report for Monday February 13tn... The Stones from one of my favorite Stones albums " Between the Buttons " did "Complicated" and it's songs like this that make you realize how important Brian Jones was to them and make you wonder what could have been? Mr Handsome _Dick Manitoba came through again with another kinks song " Wher Have all the Good times Gone " this time...then an electric version from Blind Faith of " Can't Find your way home ", I have to get this!!!,...The Soundtrack of our lives " Transcendental Suicide " , The Turtles with " You Baby ", The Donna's ripping through in Ramones likes fashion with " Take it Off " The RAMONES themselves with " Outsider ", My favorite Animals song " Don't Let me be Mis-Understood " and then a first for me The Move with " I can Hear the Grass Grow " !!! If ever there were a band that deserved more radio air time it's the Move, along with Love...The Plimsouls with a great song in Smithereens and KinKs style called " The Everyday Things ",...The Crazy World of Arthur Brown with I am the God of Hell Fire and I think You To Burn or just simply called " Fire ", from his one and only album that Pete Townshend co-produced am I am probably one of the few people who own an original copy of this album. ( or probably any copy for that matter ) and that was it for today but remember that was about 1 hours worth of listening. Where can you hear that kind of stuff on commercial radio, my point is you can't. I'm outta here, - FranK

A Slice of Heaven...a 60 to 90 minute interval from SIrius Satellite Radio, now just imagine what you missed in the other 23 hours! The Rock & Roll Report for Tuesday February 14th... The band that gave us Walk away Renee The Left Bank did " Something on my Mind ", Bob Dylan with an appropriate Valentines day song called " You Angel You ", The Fuzztones raising a noisy one up with " Hurt on Hold ", Humble Pie from I believe their first and best album " As Safe as Yesterday " with another appropriate Valentines Day song called " Heartbeat ", The Pie's first album is where they sort of sound more like the original Small Faces morte than what you might remember the Pie sounding like. This little known and unsucessful debut album is a gem among gems. It had no hits and got a small amount of radio play when it came out appox, 1969. I bought it the day it came out thanks to Scott Muni's introduction to it on his English Hour on WNEW FM in NYC....One of My favorite Bruce songs " Sandy ", next to " Jersey Girl " was next...The Who with " Bell Boy ", J. Geils band, " Ain't Nothing but a Party " and if you've ever seen the J. Geils band live you know that is the case!,..continuing in that same vein was The Pat Travers band doing the rythem and blues standard " BOOM BOOM OUT GOES THE LIGHTS " but until you have heard this song covered by the great Canadian Blues Harp player THE KING BUSCUIT BOY you really have not heard it at all,..Oa0sis with " Go Let it ",..My favorite all time DEADBOYS song " ROCKET REDUCER ",...the song I break the speed limit more often too than most other songs " HOT ROD LINCOLN " by Marrianne Price's old band Commnader Cody & his Lost Planet Airmen,...and lastly once again this band that I think is 3 Japanese guys called ALL Tomorrows Party doing ' :Ight of Love " where they take a Stooges song " TV EYE " and turn it up a notch if you can imagine that, the only weak part of this song is the vocals, if it had Iggy or even me singing it would be a KILLER song!!!, as it is it almost is anyway. Now where you can you hear all this stuff on commercial radio??? You can't and that's my point,! I'm Krankie FranKie and I'm outta here... |

A day in the life of Sirius Rock & Roll,...make that one hour, February 15, 2006... Washing the car on this 53 degree winter day and " See my Friends " was blaring out of me driveway from the Sirius Underground Garage channel, so this report started at the end after I was done driving home Wednesday morning, but before that here's what went down..The Black Rebel Motor Cycle Club did " Shuffle Your Feet " sounding a bit like The Stones B side Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man,...The DC5 inspiration by Chris Kenner with " The name of the place is I like it like that",..from 1959 The Bell Notes with a song The RAMONES never covered but should of called " Ive Had it ", The White Stripes " Fell in Love with a Girl "...has anyone seen the Marc Jacob print ads in fashion magazine with Meg White dolled up in her Marc Jacob duds, what a cutie and she looks just like someone I know and love???,...The EasyBeats with " Sorry " that Robby Krieger must have listened to since the guitar riff sounds amazingly like what he used in The Doors Peace Frog many years later,...then my speakers began to tremble, smoke poured from my Sirius Satellite receiver as this wall of feedback that segued in to the primal " I NEED YOU " by The Kinks tore a new hole in my speakers, followed by another song that just kontinued in that trend, METAL GURU by Marc Bolan and T-Rex, I already had the volume at max from the previous song and I just kept it there for this one too because it sounded so f'ing good on the radio I couldn;t help myself,..Patti Smith's political rocker " People Have the Power " came up next and that sounded nice too on the radio, I think this was co-written by her late husband Fred " Sonic " Smith from the legendary MC5 one of my all time favorite bands,...Amy Righy with her great tribute to the king of the Punks..." Dancing with Joey Ramone ", New Jersey's own Grip Weeds with " Every Minute " featuring my friend Kurt on drums who doubles as the front man in the Smithereens Offshoot band " Buzzed Meg ",...Leon Russell " Stranger in a Strange Land" , The Dovells with the 1961 hit " The Bristol Stomp ", Lou Christie " I'm gonna make you love me ", The Sweet pop of the great RASBERRIES with " Tonight " no pop is sweeter, except for the band Sweet itself, The Byrds " I don;t care about time ", One of my favorite REM songs " What's the frequency Kenneth? ", The Hawaii Mud Bombers " Natsu No Hi ", Patti Smith live with one of my favorite covers from her..the Byrds " So You Wanna Be a Rock & Roll Star "...that and the Stones ' Paint It Black " are two of mny favorite covers that Patti does at her shows,...however why she does not cover an MC5 song the band her late husbans was in is beyond me..." American Ruse " from the 2nd MC5 album " Back in the USA " would be a good choice for her too?,...The Yardbirds did " Happenings Ten Years time ago ", I forgot Patti also covered this as well and it was a great choice too, Todd Rundgren also covered this very Faithful to the original on his album of covers titled " Faithful ",...Then one of my all time favorite Who Songs " Pictures of Lily " off the Magic Bus album, you can hear traces of what was later to become the blue print for the Tommy sound in this song, Blondie with the catchy makes you want to sing a long " I'm gonna Love you too ",...finally an MC5 song " Sister Anne " but my volume was still all the way up so there was nothing I could do, The Electric Prunes with I had " Too much to dream last night " I don't know about you but I dream of Chimay's and Makers Mark?!,...Aerosmith with one of my favorite lesser known songs of theirs called " No More No More " , Same for Jethro Tull's " Fat Man " from my favorite 2nd album of theirs " Stand Up ", same for Traffic's 2nd album with " Crying to be Heard "...Johnny Thunders " I wanna be loved " , The Stooges from the great " Fun House " album with " LOOSE "...The Jefferson Airplan from Surrealistic Pillow with D.C.B.A. 25, a song some rumored to be about LSD 25 which was one of the purest forms of acid you could get back then, great stuff but in actually the song was named for the chords that made up the song??? The Vibrators with " Baby Baby " sounds familiar to me??? Alice Cooper from " Love it to Death " with " Caught in a Dream ", and Lou Reeds Dirty Blvd. In a span of about 90 minutes where else can you hear stuff like that, not on commecial radio you can't. That's my point. I'm outta here, Cya. or as dee dee would say, 1, 2, 3, 4, not that dee dee, I meant Cheerio my deerio, that dee dee.
- FranK and I also heard Yours Truely Konfused N10 somewhere in all the above too.

Bean: The Bell Notes were a Long Island group...I think from East Meadow. There may have been a connection to Elmont there, too, but I am not sure. In the early sixties, all guitar players were required to play the intro to I've Had It as soon as they hit puberty. The tune was in every aspiring rock band's repertoire. It ended with a 'cha-cha-cha'. A dated track now, but in 1959 it was about as cool as cool could be. |

Bean: I think one of the Bell Notes later played with the Aquatones, who were from our area. The Aquatones had a hit record with 'You' in the late fifties. A few of them went to Central High School. The female vocalist was from Malvern. I am not sure about the Elmont connection; its just something I heard many years ago (40 or more) when I lived in Valley Stream. |

Richie see what you started !
Monday February 20th Was Spirit's Randy California's birthday... born in 1951. Although Randy was from the West Coast, his parents moved him to Queens NY when he was 15, where he attended Forest Hills High School With Joey and some of the other RAMONES, Randy Wolfe was his real name and a friend of the the Ramones ( before they were the Ramones that is ) who later became their road manager when they did form the band remembered Randy hanging around with them for a while...Randy somehow landed a job playing with Jimmy Hendrix while in NYC ( and you can see the influence in his playing too ) but when Jimmy went off to England to tour Randy's parents would not let hom go so he missed out on possibly being the 2nd guitarist in the Jimmy Hendrix Experience??? Also it was Jimmy Hendrix who gave Randy is new last name of California because there was another Randy working for the band who was from NY? Randy eventually moved back to California and along with his step father Ed Cassidy on drums formed Spirit who release a string of great albums and some solo records from Randy too as Kaptain Kopter and the Fabulous Twilrlybirds. Randy Was born Feb 20, 1951 and died in January 05 1997 trying to save his 12 year old son from drowning in Hawaii. When I first saw the KinKs at the Filmore on October 17th and 18th in 1969, Spirit was the headlining band, from the moment the curtain rose to Randy in a long robe and head band holding his guitar over his head pointed at the roof while a Hendrix like wave of feedback and distortion filled every crevice of space I was a fan! Spirit much like Arthur Lee and Love but to a slightly lesser degree, will always be one of my favorite all time bands. Since seeing the KinKs and Spirit that Night Oct 17th / 18th 1969, My life has not been the same since and neither has my ears !

Ray Special ( Part one of two ) on the Sirius Underground Garage last night and tonight again! The Little Steven Special with Ray last night on the Sirius Underground garage Channel was a lot longer and more in depth that the one aires Sunday night on the weekly syndicated version of the Underground garage that is broadcasted on regular radio... And last night was just Part ONE and that lasted two hours alone. Tonight at 10PM is Part Two... Like I said now is a great time to get the 3 FREE day subscription to Sirius Radio on-line so you can hear the broadcast live stream on your PC and plus you can get a full 3 days taste of Sirius Satellite radio too. The sign up is immediate on line and you don't have to give any credit card info at the end of the 3 day trial period it just won't let you get the feed anymore. Last nights special in chronological content went up to the point of when the KinKs were banned from playing in the U.S. during the mid to late 60's so tonight is going to pick up from around that point and hopefully will go up to and through when they did get here in 1969 and maybe even further. I'm hoping anyway! Here's the links to check out show info, request songs, submit letters to the hosts, and also Sign up for the 3 Free day trial Subscription...again DO IT for tonight's 10PM special on Ray if for nothing else!!! FranK link to underground garage show info: http://www.sirius.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Sirius/CachedPage&c=Channel&cid=1104779639688 link to make song requests or email DJ's...and for Free trail of Sirius http://www.sirius.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Sirius/CachedPage&c=Channel&cid=1104779639688 Here's a complete list of just the songs ( Kinks or Ray songs ) played last night, plus again their was a lot more talk between Ray and Little Steven than the show that was aired last Sunday night. It's Alright " ( the B side to You Really Got Me not the Phobia version ) Things are Gonna Change Gotta Get the first plane home Who'll be the next in line You Really Got Me Come on now After the Fall Where Have all the Good Times Gone Long Tall Sally You Still Want Me All She Wrote All Day and All of the Night Till the End of the Day Next Door Neighbour See MY Friends I Need you Run Away from Time Dedicated Follower of Fashion

Just a few minutes ago the 2nd and concluding part of the Ray special on Little Steven's Underground Garage channel on the Sirius Satellite network finished up. Like I had hoped for it went slightly further in to the 70's talking a little bit about their 70's shows, and the band line up change when Dalton, and Gosling left to be replaced finally by Rodford and Henrit. I hope some of you took advantage of the free trail offer I mentioned in previous posts and were able to listen to it. Here's the song list of the 17 Kinks related songs that were played last night during the show; Well Respected Man Other Peoples Lives Set Me Free Sunny Afternoon Is there Life after Breakfast I'm Not Like Everybody Else (I don't think I ever heard this on the radio before and did it sound good! ) Johnny Thunder The Tourist Dead End Street ( another one I rarely heard on the radio that sounded great while driving! ) Yours Truely Confused N10 Low Budget Victoria ( another one that does it to me when heard on the radio ) Death of a Clown LoLa Tired of Waiting Waterloo Sunset Creatures of Little Faith ( does anyone else think this has a little Billy Joelish sound and production to it?) |

Bean: Without getting too personal, I would like to know approximately how many Kinks concerts you have attended, and the furthest you have traveled to see them. I think you might be in Guiness record territory....Also, how do you feel about Howard Stern getting sued by Les Moonves, a very distinguished Valley Stream Central High School alumni. Rich M.

Somewhere in mid 200's for KinKs shows, plus 52 solo Dave Davies shows and 61 solo Ray Davies shows with at least 5 more coming up at the end of March and beginning of April.
The furthest I have traveled to see a Kinks show was Texas back in the late 70's...To LA for a Dave solo show about 6 years ago, and to England to see a solo Ray show about 3 years ago.
AS for Howard...they are trying to get even with him for leaving. Howard was the biggest revnue maker for CBS and they wouldn't back him when the FCC came after him so just because he didn't renew his contract they are trying to hurt him but what they don't realize all they are doing is making him out to be that much more important and are getting his name and picture back in the news so I predict it's going to back fire and Howard will come out on top as he usually does.

" You're a misfit Afraid of yourself so you run away and hide You've been a misfit all your life But why don't you join the crowd and come inside You wander round this town Like you've lost your way You had your chance in your day Yet you threw it all away Now you're lost in the crowd Yet, still go your own way " --Ray Davies
" They'll move me up to Muswell Hill tomorrow, Photographs and souvenirs are all I've got, They're gonna try and make me change my way of living, But they'll never make me something that I'm not.
They're putting us in little boxes, No character just uniformity, They're trying to build a computerised community, But they'll never make a zombie out of me. " --Ray Davies
" The days go by and you wish you were a different guy, Different friends and a new set of clothes. You make alterations and affect a new pose, A new house, a new car, a new job, a new nose. But it's superficial and it's only skin deep, Because the voices in your head keep shouting in your sleep. Get back, get back. " --Ray Davies
" I've just had a dream that I never will forget. And I wish I could erase. I was standing on the street with a whole crowd of people And no one knew my name. And I was just another face No one looked at me or touched me Spoke to or acknowledged me. I had no identity or individuality No thoughts of my own, no mind or personality. I was just a no one, a total nonentity " -- Ray Davies

And now for the Sirius Under Ground Garage & Vault Rock & Roll Non-KinKs week in review…Freddie Boom Boom Cannon with the summertime rock classic “ Pallasades Park “ that the Ramones also did a great rocked up cover of,..and speaking of The Ramones, “ It’s Gonna Be allright “ as done by them, The Woggles a modern take oand throw back to the early 70’s glam rock of the NY Dolls and Flaming Groovies did a glamed up cover of Sprit’s “ I got a line on you “, how cool is that? Very in my opinion. Jerry Lee Lewis The Killer with “ All Night Long “, The Sweet “ Little Willie “, The Count 5 “ Psychotic Reaction “, The Boomtown Rats, “ Looking after # one “, The Ramones covering the classic girl band era with The Ronettes “ Baby I Love you “, and also Joey Ramone & Holly and the Italians covering Sonny & Cher’s “ I got you Babe”, The king of surf rock Dick Dale with “ Miserlou “, Johnny Burnette giving us “ Rock Therapy “ as opposed to the Ramones Psycho Therapy which I need?! (-: Another Shel Tamy produced band The Creation did “ Biff, Bang, Pow “ inspired by the old Batman TV show, The Insomiacs “ Love Me to Death “, The always incredible Arthur Lee & Love did “ Can’t Explain “, Alice Cooper running for office did “ Elected “, Bob Dylan with Little Steven’s Soprano moniker “ Silvio “, ,Aerosmith with one of my favorite of their non radio hits “ Let the Music do the talking “, Stepponwolf with my favorite and most underplayed of their hit singles “ Rock Me “, Crabby Appleton “ Go Back “, my favorite Paul sung Beatle song “ I’m Down “ where Paul does a near perfect Litte Richard impersonation and also gives us a for-warning of the Hey Jude ending to come a few years later, The Ramones “ She’s the One “ Yeah Yeah she’s the One,…The Klassic rock of Yes with “ Yours is no disgrace “, The Fleshtones with their very See My Friends Kinks sounding “ Alright “,…the hippy dippy side of Doovon with “ Eppistle to Dippy “ ( Beck should cover this, not Jeff Beck, just Beck!), The Redeemers “ She Rocks me all night long “ ( very Falming grooviyish ), speaking of Jeff beck “ Good by pork pie Hat “ , haven’t heard a title like that since the disc 3 portion of Harissons “ All Things Must Pass “ with the “ Thanks for the Pepperoni “ Jam ! , Joan Jett with yet another cover of Louie Louie, The Vatican Sex Kittens with a Johnny Winter Johnnie B Good “ Not to Shabby “ original,…The always great and missed “ Electric Prunes with a title I love “ Get me to the World on time “, The Stones covering “ Da Doo Ron Ron “?, The High Dials with a very Brian Jones Stones inspired “ My Love is Black “, The Beatles with their song about me “ Bad Boy “, just sits around the house and plays that rock & roll music all night,…The 45’s with an old Stones and KinKs sounding “ My Kinda Girl “ “ California Sun “ by Hansome Dick Manitoba and The Dictators, Again the Creation with ‘ How does it feel to feel?” , Big Star “ Feel “, The Who “ Pictures of Lily “, Bob Dylan “ It’s all right Ma, I’m only Bob Dylan “…Detroits own The Dirtbombs with “ Motor CityBaby “, The Woggles one om favorite new undiscovered band “ with “ Get Tough” if the Woggles do a show in your area you must see them!, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band “ In my own Dream”, The Monkee’s with as good as a garge rocker gets’ I’m not your Stepping Stone “ The Crybabies with a Buddy Hollyish “ You Made a fool of me”, Human Sexual Response with their ode to “ Jackie Onasis “ that sounds so much like Karen O and the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, I think it is her in disguise, The Sex Pistols God Save The Queen “ and screw the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame awards!!!, The Ramones making the street corner of “ 53rd and 3rd “ in NYC immortal, ..after reading this is there any reason you are still listening to regular radio? Tell the commercial radio stations and all the Jack clone stations around the world you’re tired of being herded like a mindless flock of sheep and you’re tired of hearing promises you know they’ll never keep like when they say they’re playing what the people want to hear? That’s all she wrote, - FranK
