A "postponed" 2003 Great Mohican Gathering in 2004? You decide!

Here's a possible, full-week itinerary for the event - becoming the GRAND Great Mohican Gathering:

  • MONDAY - Chimney Rock Park/Pisgah National Forest [Elk Hunt]
  • TUESDAY - Cherokee Tour
  • WEDNESDAY - The Biltmore Estate
  • THURSDAY - Linville Gorge
  • FRIDAY - The Nolichucky River Rafting Ride
  • SATURDAY - Dupont State Forest/the MOVIE
  • SUNDAY - The Mohican Games/Cook-Out/Music/Raffles


Doing this, you would see [titles derived from On the Trail of the Last of the Mohicans - the guide book]:

  • Opening & Closing Vistas
  • The Elk Hunt
  • Albany ... Part I [Bridge Only]
  • Albany ... Part II
  • The Escort
  • Tracking the War Party
  • The Ambush
  • The River Walk
  • The Burial Ground
  • Lake George & Fort William Henry
  • Canoes
  • Under the Falls [part of]
  • Rescue
  • The Huron Village
  • The Cliffs
  • The Final Scene

Rich. Have you thought about maybe starting on Saturday or Sunday and ending on a Saturday? When we have an active day on Sunday. You either have to take Monday off also or just plain miss the Sunday event. We could all use Sunday as a traveling home day.

I think that's a great idea! A Sunday to Saturday would allow a traveling day on either end!

Hi All!

I've been meaning to stop over here even since the sad news that the '03 Gathering was canceled. I didn't know Rich had a baby in the hospital but I am glad to hear she's home again and I hope she's doing well.

Last year's Gathering was so much fun. The people were great and the weather and scenery spectacular! Yogi & I were looking forward to doing it again. Hope we can all get together and make 2004 the best gathering yet!

Y'All have a great summer!
