What are some other love scenes, apart from LOTM, that you reallly like? I've really enjoyed movies like "Pretty Woman", and "Ever After" (which I saw about ten times!), but no other movie love scene has affected me so much as "The Kiss". I usually find the way couples look at each other more romantic and/or erotic than the actual kissing or sex, which is why I love "The kiss" so much. I think Madeleine Stowe produced some of the most beautiful expressions of love and desire EVER captured on film.

Other romantic moments I like are:

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dancing their romantic duets.

The "blue soup" scene in "Bridget Jones Diary. The look that Mark Darcy gave Bridget melted my heart.

The way Darcy looked at Elizabeth in "Pride and Prejudice" -the TV movie version.

I can't pick a favorite love scene, but I can definitely tell you the worst one I ever saw. The love scene between Demi Moore and Gary Oldman in "The Scarlet Letter" was almost 5 minutes long and BOOORING! I don't think I've ever FF through a love scene before. It was truly awful.

Besides The Kiss.... I love Ever After as well (not a love scene, but when Henry is apologizing to Danielle ); the Highlander: Endgame L/S between Duncan and Kate; Shakespeare in Love between Viola and William. All I can think of at the moment.

I was thinking of that one, too. The unraveling of the binding and the scene where they are quoting the play to each other...

The Age of Innocence, when Newland slowly - EXQUISITELY - removes the Countess Olenska's glove.

One of them, anyway ... and excluding "The Kiss" ... and it's not really a love scene, anyway, but ... in "Meet Joe Black" the interplay between Brad Pitt & Claire Forlani is exquisite ... and very tender, abetted by a wonderful score. I particularly like the coffee shop scene ... though it doesn't end up all that well romantically. For those who've never seen it, I'll stay mum on this. Quite the surprise the first time you watch, I'll tell you that!

There's a scene is this film that actually does resemble "The Kiss" just a bit ...

I've seen Meet Joe Black. It got some savage reviews, but I really got into the movie. There's a tender love scene, but I don't remember anything resembling the kiss! I'll have to see it again.

Well ... only in the sense that it's sex without the sex, if you know what I mean! Nicely done, without being graphic.

Has anyone seen the 1986 movie, "Lady Jane", Helena Bonham-Carter as Lady Jane and Cary Elwes as Guilford Dudley? What a story about the infamous "9" days Queen. It was heart wrenching to see these two lovebirds and their ultimate demise.

Well, this will be more of a list than just ONE favorite!

OF COURSE...the Kiss AND the look on Hawkeye's face just before he jumps through the falls.

AND...I have to agree with Lady Ann - the glove scene in A of I - exquisite!

OR...in Rob Roy when he aroses his wife in the morning after a rinse off in the lake.

GOTTA INCLUDE...Yes, Sidony ...Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice when he looks at Elizabeth after she turns the page of music for his sister AND the twinkle in his eye when she agrees to marry him! Also in the Colin Firth line (my fav just after DDL)...in Bridget Jones' Diary when MARK DARCY returns from America and kisses Bridget just before she was supposed to go to Paris.

Another favorite, in Chocolat, is the way Johnny Depp looks at Juliette Binoche when they are dancing on his boat. GOODNESS!

And last but not least...Ellen Barkin and Dennis Quaid in THE BIG EASY - my EX looked just like him...in his younger days! WooHoo!

OK - I'm Done...pass that fan Lady Ann!!!!!!!
