Compagnie LeBoeuf will encamp at the park in downtown Franklin(Venango), PA. On August 16th, 1753 the French occupied John Frazier's vacant trading post. In a few years they would build Fort Machault, and would remain in Venango until 1759.

The 250th Anniversary of the French Occupation of Venango(Franklin) Sept. 6 & 7, 2003

Tentative Schedule:

Saturday, Sept. 6
9:00am: Camp open to public

10:00am: Musket Firing and Drill

11:00am: Bob Learzoff as John Fraser

12:00pm: Children Games

1:00pm: Cannon Firing Demonstration

2:00pm: Paul Stillman as Benjamin Franklin

Join Paul Stillman, renowned living historian from ‘Historically Speaking’, as he portrays Ben Franklin, one of our nation’s founding fathers, during the French & Indian War. Bring your chairs and blankets to the bandstand to learn how science, glass, music, and philosophy are only part of Ben’s life.

3:00pm

4:00pm: Musket Firing and Drill & Cannon Firing Demonstration

5:00pm: End of programming


Sunday, Sept. 7

9:00am: Camp open to public

10:00am: Musket Firing and Drill

11:00am: Bob Learzoff as John Fraser
