That was in the days before the Fort was constructed. It used to be a great place to go. A large event each Spring and a large trade fair each fall. Plus numerous other smaller events throughout the year. There was a great native camp in the woods with quality reenactors. And great battle scenarios. Then they built the Fort. Period construction, at least from the outside. Then they did away with the battle and the trade fair. Then with the native impressions for anyone who was not on the tribal rolls. Now it is for the in-house garrison only. So I doubt I will ever go back. Not welcome. It is a real shame. We had looked forward to that Fort as a welcome addition to a great site but instead it turned out to be a woke replacement.
