Hey,
Ive checked out your website and am quite thoroughly impressed with the content and fervor of what must be the Official Mohicans Fan Club. We have appreciated and enjoyed when the Mohicans Gathering has visited the Park in the past. I wanted to share with you first that Chimney Rock Park has plans in the making to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Mohicans movie release in a big way! Id love to call on you and your loyal fans to join us and be involved in a special wayK and maybe you have some ideas of what that could be. Heres what were planning:
X Were in touch with 20th Century Fox about borrowing some of the original movie props and having them on display in the Park for 3 or 6 months.
X Weve licensed the movie to play it on an outdoor inflatable screen in the Meadows at the Park on June 16 at dusk (see details below)! We have ideas about a silent auction preceding the movie showing, which could include original movie posters, etc.
X We will have some flyers with info about where specific scenes were filmed in the Park.
X We may host some weekend guided hikes in June out to the waterfall, with the guide talking about the filming scenes.
X Do you have any other ideas of cool things your group would like to incorporate into this momentous celebration? Any chance we could get Wes Studi to join us for another Mohican gathering?

Movie on the Meadows: The Last of the Mohicans
Date/Time: Saturday, June 16; Movie starts at 8:55pm.
Location: Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park
Cost: Parking fee TBD
Description: Watch The Last of the Mohicans outdoors where parts of this epic romantic adventure film starring Daniel Day-Lewis were originally filmed. Marvel at the beauty of the Hickory Nut Gorges towering rock cliffs, lush landscape and 404-foot waterfall on the big screen while the scenery surrounds you! Bring your sweetheart or friends for an evening of fun, suspense and adventure as we celebrate the 20-year anniversary of the film release. Pre-show entertainment will be provided; movie starts at dusk.
