Check out this Warner release list for 2010: http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?p=2444060 They are finally releasing LOTM in blu-ray! The link says "Mann version" which is most likely the Director's expanded edition BUT this is our chance to organize a campaign of some sorts to influence Mann and others in charge that we want to see more of the film!

You veterans out there have experience, what can we do? We must act fast because if Mann is gonna edit the film once again it's gonna take him some time and 2010 is already around the corner!

At last. I was wondering when/if they were ever going to do this. Hmmm, let me think.

Gee...do you think we could get them to add the places where "Martin" (Sebastian Roche) appears? He is listed in the credits. Seems a shame that he was left out completely of the earlier versions.

Yes, tell Mr. Mann to add "Martin".

What was his part in the movie, what scenes were cut out that he was in?

According to a script that I once saw here, it was supposed to be when there was that big gathering at Cameron's cabin. Maybe there were others.

Too tired for this. I cannot organize or participate in another of these things. Sorry. My advice, if you proceed ... be PASSIONATE!

Personally, I would be happy with a disk that contains both the theatrical & director's cuts. Throw in a trailer, and I'm good to go.

I was just reading some old posts about LOTM and the "new" DVD edition. Someone mentioned things that were in the original tape/theater version that shouldn't have been - elk man, bus and something else. I've seen the DVD and a recording of the original that was shown on Tv and never saw a bus; can someone explain where and when this occurs? Thanks!

As long as I can pause, zoom in, and check out UNCAS and all the other Native hotties I'm good! Gotta love how far technology has come! Remember the old days when you'd pause the VCR and you couldn't hardly see the picture? Sucked!

I live in my own little world - but that's okay, they know me here!
