Blue Ridge Brass (featured band at many GMHG ceremonies) has just announced the release of their new CD featuring "Last of the Mohicans". They are currently taking prerelease orders for this outstanding recording which will be released the middle of next month. Click here for a printable order form.

Link's not working right now, GG ... but I wanted to say:
I think that this band almost made it to the Mohican Gathering last year ... well, actually, this year, June 2002. I can't recall the name, but I'll find out. Michael Rouse, the director of the McDowell Tourism Development Authority here in Marion, is a member. I know they have brass [and pipes] and that they play at the Highland Games at Grandfather Mountain and that they play Mohicans stuff in their repertoire ... sound like a possible match?
Anyway, Michael asked me last Spring if it'd be OK if they played for us at the Gathering. I said, "well, maybe ..." [NOT], and he tried to get it together with the rest of the crew, but it never panned out. The plan was for them to meet up with us at Louise's & then play over at Linville Falls. It woulda been a neat surprise ...
