I thought I would start a thread for all things "Halloween". So any good stories, urban legends, what your going as for trick-or-treating, or simply to tell of an experience you had in the past that might send a shiver up our spines. Hope everyone has a wonderful Halloween this year!!

Okay, I'll start things out, I guess. My husband and I went to a costume party this weekend and decided to take our little boy with. So here is a pic of myself and my little man, Daniel. I was a bar maid and he was a goat. I would post a pic of my husband too but he didn't want his mug up.

Cute Billy Goat, Blackie! He is sooooooooo sweet, your little boy is.

And your pic looks beautiful! I am not dressing up this year but will try to post some pics of the kids when I get them!

As for a halloween story...

While in college I placed a bet with my ex's best friend over a bearcat game and lost. So I had to dress up as a man for halloween. Being tall and at that time small busted certainly helped my 1940's gangster costume along. I showed up at a frat party, fake goat T and all. No one knew it was me because the guy didn't tell anybody about the bet, except my ex, who was enjoying the humiliation more than anything.

I got hit on by so many girls it wasn't funny.

I live in my own little world - but that's okay, they know me here!

Well, that experience was a nightmare. Never dressed like a man again! Didn't like doing it to begin with! Just felt - ew!

But I did get ticked off so eventually I went upstairs and took a bed spread and made a toga out of it. Then I took off the fake beard and mustache and let down my hair.

Everyone thought it was hysterical. I didn't get to live it down for quite some time.

Hmm well I have a scary-ish story, it didn't happen on Halloween but in December about 5 years ago.
My guy and I had just been shopping, it was quite late about 9pm at night when we got back. As we walked up to the front door of our house we noticed that there was a full moon so I joked and said "Ooo all the werewolves will be out tonight" and began to howl, my guy laughed then from not too far away we heard a really loud howl, it was a canine howl not someone howling back but there are no dogs in this area, none at all...I've never opened my door so fast, I refused to go out for the next few nights after that lol

Also I found quite a spooky video on Youtube for everyone to get into the halloween spirit!

I'm starting to think that 7 cats may be a bit too much...

Hmmmm.... speaking as one who has 6 cats.... I think I will stay away from watching that video. It doesn't sound like it would allow me to sleep at night.

I think I will dress out in my 18th century clothing tonight. Last time I did that, I was a great hit!

Hey, here's something to get your imagination going. Some of the images are pretty neat but others look like they are a total set up. But otherwise good!

That was creepy and it also reminded me of something that happened to me a while ago.

When i was much, much younger i used to model for my friend who was doing photography at Uni.

So, for her course work we went out to some woods, me dressed as a wood spirit and took lots of pics.
When they came out we noticed a guy in one of them and we both swore he had not been there when it was being taken.
This was for her course work so she had to be really careful with her shots and it freaked us out in that he's not really wearing normal clothing, it looks dated.
She would have seen him from the rock she was on and I would have seen him when i turned around...it still creeps me out to this day.
He may just have been some odd guy that liked to go out wearing that...but it just seems odd....

That's really pretty creepy, Kirachi. Where'd that dude come from? Looks like he was posing for the pic!

I don't have any scary stories. I'm too boring for ghosts, I guess. All I ever do is read. Unless the ghost was a complete nerd or the unhappy soul of a Classics student who just had to get one last look at a beloved Greek text, I think he'd stay away from me.

When I was going to school in Georgia a few years back, though, I did have to walk through a cemetery every day on my way to and from class. It was an old cemetery with graves dating from the 1700's, and it had an entire section at its entryway with the graves of unknown Confederate soldiers. The place just seemed to breathe history, but I never once saw or heard anything creepy. It was just a peaceful walk. I did manage to scare one poor guy pretty badly one day, though.

I think it was the day before Halloween, not too long after sunup, and I was walking in my usual brisk but quiet way through the cemetery. There was a man ambling along a little ways ahead of me and he apparently never heard me coming. I had almost caught up with him when I stepped on an acorn. The place was so qiuet and the acorn cracked so loudly that it sounded like a gunshot. That poor guy about jumped out of his skin and he took a few running steps before he turned around to see that it was only li'l old me! [ He made an embarrassed comment about being freaked out since it was so close to Halloween, and I'm sure he was glad when I passed him up and was no longer walking behind him.

Seriously, that is really strange. He does appear to be wearing clothing from the mid to late 1800s, doesn't he?

Yeah, it like he's looking over at us *shivers*

It's very odd, everytime i go to those woods now I keep an eye out for anyone wearing those clothes just in case there is someone that likes to walk around wearing historic clothes, it's better than it being a ghost lol

The place it was taken, Alderley Edge has a huge history, evening including Merlin, Aurther and his knights but also witches, elven paths etc

We looked closer at the photo, and it appears he's wearing a hat with a brim, a long waist coat and carrying a jacket...

I guess i'll never know the truth of who he is which is frustrating haha

There were always reports of ghosts at the Ninety Six / Star Fort site in SC. We were camped there one night, about the time of the battle, and it was foggy with the moon shining through it. A few of us got a couple of bottles of wine and walked out to Star Fort to see if we could find some ghosts. We sat there until the wine was gone and saw absolutely nothing. If we had seen a ghost, we were going to try to catch him and document everything he was wearing and carrying. It might be he was afraid to show up.

Then there was a time at Joumonville's Glenn, but that's another story.

We've driven around there late at night hoping to see some but guess the "spooks" were too scared to come out and "play". Always wanted to do the "ghost tours" but the kids were younger and too frightened to go on them.

I have pics that I have taken at multiple places where there is a beam of light with tiny bright lights and these always show in the negatives, so it's not a development error.

I really need to buy a scanner so I can post them as the light always appears by the kids. I looked further into it and according to Paranormal Investigators it's an angel.

The odd thing is that it started to appear in my kids pics right after my mother-in-law passed away. She never got the chance to see the kids as her death was realy sudden and occurred 1 week before we had plans to visit her.

Makes me wonder because I've always lived in haunted houses or on haunted land and am so used to "The Other Side" that spirits/ghosts don't really freak me out anymore. Oh, the events I've lived through and could tell you - would send shivers down your spine. Nothing like the excorsist but some of it was quite creepy.

Something else really wierd that's always been a part of me, premonitions. I started having dreams that were detailed and never forgotten that would come true. To this day I do this and have scared my husband a time or two. He did something that he didn't want me find out about but I kept having these intense dreams about floods and empty abandoned houses, even saw who I believe was my 3xGreat-Grandfather. In my dream I knew the man was related by way of a grandparent, two days later my dad passes along a pic of the man to me. It was really creepy. And I do that stuff all the time.

I've actually had a medium stop me on the streets in downtown and tell me I was pyschic and ignoring it.

BTW....Good Pic Kirachi. He's not a person, so you don't have to worry about seeing him in flesh and blood. The minute I saw the man in your pic I just knew, even before reading your post. Don't know how I know but there it is. He was buried somewhere nearby. But his grave was not marked as his caravan was on the move.

I live in my own little world - but that's okay, they know me here!

I guess he thought it was amusing that we were taking pictures.
It's funny you should say that about caravan's too because it was a known route for people going to trade goods in other towns....
