Well since none of my Alan Rickman movies have arrived yet in the mail, last night I found myself watching "The Holiday" On Demand. It was definitely a "chick flick" as Obi would say but very enjoyable. Kate Winslet was wonderful in this one and it just kept my interest from start to finish. For those who don't know Kate and Cameron Diaz's characters, Iris and Amanda exchange homes over the Christmas holiday for a "holiday". They both have had a bad relationship break-up and "need to get away", far away. I think my fellow women out there in Mohicanland would definitely enjoy this movie so I just wanted to recommend it. So if you need something to watch then grab your favorite beverage and some popcorn and curl up nice and comfy to watch this one. Definitely gets an "A" from me.
Anyone already seen this and care to comment or disagree with me if you have the courage to

| I haven't seen this movie because I'm more into action movies...as some may say...if it doesn't have kung fu and explosions in it, forget it!...but the one "love story" movie that I actually really liked was funny enough Love Actually with your very own beloved Alan Rickman!! I thought all of the stories were so well done and touching. |

And COLIN FIRTH!!! Please don't mention "Love Actually" and not mention MY Colin. Actually, there is one other actor in that movie that should be mentioned, and that is Ralph Fiennes. Did anyone ever see him in "Wuthering Heights" as Heathcliff???
Love, Kay
PS I almost forgot to mention that I watched The Holiday too and I liked it, but it was just hard to imagine Jack Black as a leading man in a romance movie. I would have rather seen Colin, Ralph, or even Alan. |

| Yes I agree with you Kay about Jack not a very good "romantic lead". Still they had Jude Law for Amanda and he was good. |

| Just think if Alan Rickman had played Magua: there would be Col. Monro lying under his horse and AR would appear with his spoon! |

Okay, I am lost on this one. The spoon thing must have something to do with Harry Potter. I haven't seen any of the HP movies.

Kay, I am lost as well. Obi you got me on this one. AR would appear with his spoon...what the........Definitely not a reference from Harry Potter. I am sure you can enlighten us Obi
Kay, never seen a Harry Potter movie You really should watch them as they are so good. Lots of us "grown-ups" are addicted to them even moreso than the kids. Besides which you have never seen my darling, sexy Professor Severus Snape . You really need to rent the DVD's and have a "Potterfest" pretty soon. I highly recommend it. |

| Haven't any of you guys ever seen Kevin Costner's Robin Hood? AR plays the evil Sheriff of Nottingham. He is so angry at Robin that he tells his cousin/henchman (played my Michael Wincott) that he wants to cut Robin's heart out with a spoon, because it would hurt more!!! |

Obi, I did see that movie but must have been when it came out about 16 years ago. Not seen it since so I definitely do not recall that being said. Ouch, that would really hurt....evil Sheriff but he was excellent in that role. So good at being "naughty" is my Alan......sigh.......
Speaking of "naughty" just watched him in "Quigley Down Under" last night and all I can say is "aahhhhhhdorable". Again the "naughty" villan of the story but he sure looked, acted and sounded great. Amazing how he can deliver his lines with such "sarcasm" and those looks of his can convey so much without any words. Also had Tom Selleck who was great in this. Alan and Tom Selleck, only two guys who look good with a moustache. |

Aye Carumba!
You got it bad, Irish! I remember when Val Kilmer was big my computer used to say "I'm your huckleberry!" every time you gave it a command.
Hubby got a big kick out of it! |
