Subject: Today Show in NYC-you can help promo the 250th event

Greetings all,

This is the last call for volunteers who would like to travel down with a van load of us (reenactors in kit) to stand outside at the barricades of the Today Show at Rockefeller Plaza and to help promote the 250th Commemoration of the French & Indian War and specifically the Lake George Siege of Fort Wm Henry weekend event of Sept 15-16. This is YOUR chance to be seen on National TV!! We are not going into the studio as guests--we are simply standing outside at the barricades hoping for some moments of glory holiding our posters ,and looking uniquely wonderful in 18th c. kit! (sorry no muskets, bayonets, knives or hawks--per NYC regs)

To date i have heard from the following who have expressed a willingness to go:

Chuck Vandrei, Jay Levenson (will meet us there from LI), Mike Dickenson, Wes Dikeman(i am told by FWH will be our driver too), Tom Nesbitt, Craig Russell, Rick Salazar, Kevin Sherman and yours truly-Luisa Sherman.

I could definately use a few more ladies if at all possible as well as some French representation. I really need at least 6-8 people solidly confirmed to make this worth the effort and expense that the fort is donating in the use of their van, driver and gas for most of a day.

Right now the date selection is as follows: Either Tuesday, Aug 28; Weds, Aug 29; or Thurs, Aug 30. I do not have a preference and would like those listed above plus any others to give me your first, second and third choice of date preferences from above dates.

Please let me know at the Surrender Ceremony this Sat. or via email by this Friday as to which day or days are your preference. We will go with which ever day the most can attend and make a firm commitment to. I have to secure the van, etc.

Lets make this a day to remember!! (I am sure it will be!!) Feel free to forward this along to any other units or reenactors you know that fit the bill.

Yours,

Luisa Sherman

That would be awesome. I wish them all luck.
