I have often seen mentioned a person that goes by the name Many Flags. Would that person be Rick Salazar?
Anybody? Anybody? Bueller?

Well, his profile says: Many (Michael) Flags (Hagenbuch). But if he is Rick I doubt he'd put that out in the open, so I don't know.

There are two "Many Flags."
The Many Flags who sometimes posts on these boards is Mark Hagenbuch, a British Highlander re-enactor (both F & I and Rev War eras) and a very knowledgeable and educated man. He is a good friend of Seamus, and an acquaintance of mine.
The Many Flags Fitz may be referring to is a Native Re-enactor, I believe. But I don't know what his real name is. I'll bet Seamus does. |

The Many Flags I am referring to is in charge of the Natives at Grand Encampment III. Odd that two would have this name. |

I just checked with Seamus, and I am correct. There are the two separate men.
Rick Salazar is, indeed, the man you are referring to. He is affiliated with the military unit that our own Private Chauncey, aka English Trader, is a part of.
I will be at GEIII, Fitz, with the 1st Pennsylvania Provincials (Weiser's Battalion). Are you going? |

WW lets out a long, resigned sigh.....
Well, then. I suppose there's no help for it. I suppose we must meet in person. But rest assured that I shall not venture into any French camp without a proper escort of at least two big, strong, and well-armed Provincial soldiers. |

Yes, of course they are coming, as they have always been in whatever battle they are ordered to be in. And you, Miss-yer Lay-Fran-say, just might possibly have noticed that fact, if you had not been so busy shirking your duty. I mean, after all... it's pretty difficult to observe who is present and what is going on in a battle if you aren't within 2 miles of it, don't you think?
Take a bit of advice from a good British/Provincial woman who knows that the only good Frenchman is a dead one... if you really want to be able to say who is there and who isn't... stop wenching in the French tavern when you are supposed to be in battle!
MG, you should know by now that WW will never set foot in a French Tavern! How dare you suggest it, Sir?
Miss Kay, I see that you are showing a tendency to side with my enemy. I shall have to think a bit more seriously about your friendship, but I shan't give up on you. I'll give you another chance.

WW, NO!!!!!! I'm not siding with the enemy. I was just laughing at the enemy. You know that I will always be on your side. God Save The Queen!!!

Tsk, tsk, tsk....
This poor Frenchman. How I pity him. Not only can he not recognize the truth when he sees it and he has no loyalty to his fellow soldiers and commanding officers when it is time for battle, but he is in great need of help when it comes to picking his friends and allies.
I shall pray for you and your soul, Fran-say.
Ah, yes, Miss Kay. It truly is easy, and quite tempting, to laugh at this particular enemy, is it not? However, I think we must truly have pity for him, for he is beyond any earthly help. I'll wager that even his Priest has walked away from him, shaking his head. Perhaps God will take pity on his soul, when he finally lays dying of the pox in a gutter somewhere in Quebec.
Tsk, tsk. |

As far as I know, they are all the same disease, Obi, and all gotten the same way.
Miss-yer Lay Fran-say, I have not the faintest idea of what you are talking about. I fear that all of your wenching and debauchery has addled your poor brain. It probably won't be long now...... |

WW, I have a confession. I was consorting with the enemy today. I didn't want to, but my husband made me!!! We had a job to install a satellite system for one of those Mis-yer fellows. I could not understand a word that he was saying. Why can't the French speak English??? He looked at me a little befuddled too. It was my intention to confuse him as much as possible and make him want to go back to France. I did a good job too. You would have been proud of me. Instead of fighting with weapons, I was fighting with words like "y'all" and "down yonder" He just kind of gave me a blank stare. I know that he was wishing that he was back home.
