My first post here and it has to be in the middle of a fire fight. Although I voted that the movie isn't a chick flick due to the battle scenes, etc. I must admit it was also romantic.

Its sorta like the quote, "Real men eat quiche." Real men can enjoy a movie with romance and real women can enjoy a movie with battles and men doing manly things.

So there I was - between a rock and a hard place - when I wondered that perhaps I should be on the other side of the rock.

I've been really busy, but still trying to follow along... and I'm sorry to my friends in both camps; but I have to agree with WW here! I know I've said it before, but I think LOTM is a fantastic example of combining all the right elements of a guy flick with the right elements of a chick flick. Maybe becaise MM already had experience attracting all those female viewers to a show like "Miami Vice"? Sorry Obe! Sorry Light - I want to side with the ladies on this!

And a big Mohicanland Welcome to Bravo too!

Well said and welcome to the board Bravo6.

So does this imply that LOTM is a little bit of both?
And Welcome Bravo6. Thanks for siding with the enemy!

Women are the enemy? So... the 'War Between the Sexes' is a failure because there's too much fraternizing with the enemy? Or as Cole Younger (David Carradine) said in 'The Long Riders,' "Women...love 'em!"

Actually, Light, Master Bravo seems to be straddling the fence here...

If LOTM was truly a "chick flick", Uncas would have survived. Since he did not, I place LOTM as a "man's movie" with large crossover appeal.

We become what we think about.

True, but without Uncas to look at, to drool over, or to loose all control over it just wouldn't be the same!

BTW, Obi, did I mention the loser of this thread is the person who's right?

Me too I love "manly men" and Uncas and Hawkeye and Chingy are definitely "manly" I just love the whole idea of our trio of heroes rushing to save Cora and Alice, the damsels in distress. Uncas gives his life trying to save his damsel and Hawkeye is willing to be BBQ'd for Cora. They end up in each others arms at the end of the movie and it is just so "wonderful" All these aspects make the movie so appealing to us women and in that respect it is a chickflick

This is starting to sounds like "The Matrix." There is no spoon!

And just how fine is the print, one asks. And one answers: it's INVISIBLE!

I say Chick-Flick all the way. Just enough warm and fuzzy moments for me to be happy and enough guys to drool over time and time again.

There are easier things in life then trying to find a good guy..... Nailing jelly to a tree for example.
