Geeze LLOF I don't watch any of those shows. Used to watch Little House when I was a kid growing up but not since. Some I have never even heard of.

Sorry to disappoint you, Irish, but I haven't watched any DWTS this year, yet. So, Maks isn't on there this year? My wife is crushed...

Amazing how a year changes things...

FAVORITES:
Mythbusters (I like explosions, too)
Stargate SG-1 (with RDA)
Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives
Extreme Home Makeovers
CSA:NY (wonderful cast)
NCIS
Numb3rs
Anything with Samatha Brown

I HATE THESE:
Any nightly news program (national or local)--have you ever noticed that the news is virtually the same, night after night, with only the names changing?
CSA:Miami (Terrible actors & no substance at all)
Just about any of those cooking/recipe shows on Food Network
Battlestar Galactica (the new one)
Survivor
American Idle (er, Idol)
All sit-coms *Always have, always will*
Sports -- sportfans, get a life! (of your own)

I MISS THESE:
Babylon 5 (the best SF series ever)
Hogan's Heroes (especially the fact that most of the Nazis were played by Jews--wonderful irony)
Mission Impossible
Hee Haw
Carole Burnett
Lovejoy

What the heck is Torchwood?? Sounds like Deadwood burning!

OMG! I loved Hogan Hero's!!!! I'd love to see them on TV again but alas, this present day society would have it banned for sure! Good thing there's always DVD.

We just discovered a small local station which is now on cable & which shows all kinds of oldies but goodies. Hogan is on every weekday here at 1:30 PM! Woohoo!

My favorite line from that show: Hogan to Col Klink, "they'll name the next war after you!" "World War Klink??"

Ok a new show added to my list of favorites: Spongebob Squarepants

I'm a little late on the wagon but it is really silly. Just can't stand that starfish for nothing!

I've always thought of Spongebob as a "kindler, gentler" Ren & Stimpy. However, I do like Patrick, though. And that pet snail is my favorite.

Light how can you not like Patrick Star. He is funny and so dumb even moreso than Spongebob. My eldest two used to watch this all the time when they were younger so I am kind of sick of Spongebob but I sometimes have to sit and watch with my younger two who still enjoy it.

Yes Obi, I like "Gary" too especially the episode where SB forgets to feed him and he runs away from home LOL.

Spongebob rocks!!! I have been watching this show for years and got my husband into it. Something about that little yellow sponge that makes my day even better! But I'm totally with Light on this one, I can't stand Patrick Starfish! So annoying! I love Squidworth! I relate with his character, lol!

I like the prehistoric spongebob episode!

Pat-tar
Spongegar
Squad

and then the tiny Mr Krabs that runs around muttering, "Money, money, money, money...." And then Spongegar stomps on him and cooks him up for Pat-tar. LOL
I loved that part!

The Equalizer! How could I have forgotten Edward Woodward? If anyone has seen the movie Hot Fuzz, EW plays that bald bearded geek who's head of the neighborhood watch!

Crusade Here's a quote from IMDB:

quote:
I've read a lot of the comments, and I see an overwhelming trend here: people don't know what they're talking about. Crusade is NOT a bad show. It is an excellent show, and a worthy addition to the B5 universe. It was originally scheduled to air after the movie "A Call To Arms", and the pilot episode was to be "Racing The Night". They had 5 episodes ready and were about to film more when TNT paused production. They wanted serious changes to the show: new uniforms, more violence, more sex. They forced JMS to write a new pilot, "War Zone" with ridiculous requirements, such as a fistfight in the opening.

He later refused to add more sex and a 'sexual explorer', so TNT canceled the show after 13 episodes were filmed. The show was canceled before it even aired. It was not canceled because it was bad, but because TNT made it bad. They did eventually air it, but totally out of order. If you ignore "War Zone" and watch the other 12, it's a great show. The show clearly has an arc, and it was about to begin when the show was canceled. Hopefully the SCI-FI channel will pick it up in the future and continue this great series.

Now you know...

I recall watching "The Equalizer" back in the 80's but I had no idea that was him in "Hot Fuzz" and I have watched that movie quite a lot. He looks so different but being much older I guess he would. Thanks for pointing that out Obes.

It's funny you mentioned "Samurai Jack", Pen. That is one of my favorites to watch on Cartoon Network. I have to stay up to see it though! Not many people know of this awesome cartoon but it's worth taking a gander at.

Edward Woodward was also a guest-star on Crusade--the ep is called "The Long Road". He played a Technomage by name of Aldwyn. Very interesting, watching him act alongside his son Peter!

Hey, blackfootblood.

I forgot how to do quotes, but I think Samurai Jack was one of the best action cartoons ever. It's a shame they didn't really finish the series. There was supposed to be a movie (theatrical-type) at one point, but I think the idea was shelved when Mako passed away :( . He was irreplaceable.

Okay just wanted to recommend a brilliant series on HBO called "Carnivale". It was originally aired earlier this decade probably around 2003 and I had watched it then but unfortunately it got cancelled after only two seasons. Apparently it was very expensive to make and did not bring in the viewing ratings HBO had been expecting. Typical of HBO to cancel a brilliant show like this just like they did with Rome but anyway that is another story. Anyways, I recently finished watching both Seasons and highly recommend it. It is definitely a different kind of show. Set in 1934, the dustbowl and the fight between good and evil. Centers around a traveling carnival of course with many unique characters and an excellent cast featuring Clancy Brown as Brother Justin.

So anyone here seen it in the past and if so what did you think? Do yourselves a favor and give it a viewing.

Some of them I had not heard of either. Most disappointing cast so far for a Season of Dancing.

My favorite is that new guy that nobody heard of from the "Sex and the City" movie. Boy could he strut his stuff in a sexy way. I also like Shaun Johnson. She did a great job. Those two are probably the favorites. Then I have to root for Belinda Carlisle as I have always liked Jonathan Roberts. Such a sweetheart he is and handsome to boot.

Ty Murray was terrible Obi so I think he could be the first to go. Better hope he has lots of fans.

There are so many things that I love to watch that it's ridiculous. The tv shows that I watch right now though are Heroes,Supernatural, and then all the older ones I watch are Wanted:Dead or Alive,Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, Emergency, Magnum PI, Airwolf, Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys, Hogan's Heroes (I know nothing, I see nothing, I didn't even get up this morning!), and old British comedies like Are you Being Served?, Last of the Summer Wine, As Time Goes By, Red Dwarf, and My Hero. I miss alot of the shows that I remember watching from the late 80s-early/mid 90s.

Speaking of Airwolf, I went to high school with Jan Michael Vincent (or just Jan Vincent as he was known then). He was such a jerk then and has gotten progressively worse, from everything I've read. [/name dropping=off]

BTW, to paraphrase Charlie Prince (3:10 to Yuma), "I hate smurfs."
