Well certainly sounds "different". Not sure what to make of it. I guess I would give it a try but German looking Indians and German speaking Indians sounds pretty lame to me. I take it you have not seen it yet Pen? If you do be sure and report back. For me there can be only one Chingy and that is Russell Means just like there can be only one Magua or Uncas. I just can't see anyone else in their roles. Of course this was made in 1967 but Russell owns that character.

It *does* sound weird. I don't think I remember any film or book mentioning Chingachgook's wife (Uncas's mother?) before. Maybe it came up in the Leatherstocking Tales? Can somebody straighten me out on this :)?
I read only a small part of that back in high school. It got really boring because nobody except me was interested in it (yes, that includes the teacher :)!) I was the only person in the entire school who could pronounce 'Chingachgook', so every time the name came up, she'd ask me to say it.
Anyway, I don't recall any mention of his wife in it.
Having taken a second look at the review of the film, I may rent it and skip through most of it...I dunno.
Wow, I think this is the longest post I've ever written! I'll shut up now :).
