Happy Presidents' Day, Folks!
One thing I had to do was to eliminate the subscription function of this Board. That is, subscribing to forums or threads to be notified of new posts in that thread or forum. Due to increased server side anti-spam software throughout the Internet, much of those E-mails - particularly those of AOL users - were being bounced back to me, rather than going to the intended recipient.
Congratulations to Sgt. Munro -  - new "Global" Moderator to these Boards, joining others in my "inner circle"  - as Mr. Qasimoto like to calls 'em - WW, Gadget Girl, and Seamus. People who are not only frequent contributors over the long haul, but whose judgment I trust. So, despite what one might see in the moderator columns on the main Board page, these 4 fine folk can moderate anywhere. There are other moderators who have apparently abandoned the premises, but I don't yet have the heart to cut them loose from their "duties" ...
Thanks to Stephanie, Kay, and Diana, the 2006 Mohican Gathering is going to be a reality! Sign up & join 'em for the festivities!
Had an E-mail of the Week all picked out, and then another arrived this morning, causing a tie. Here ya go:

Kay,
Sarge was already a moderator in some of the forums. So he was just a "regular" angel. But now..... he is an Avenging Angel!!

 I'm sorry to see you took the term "Avenging Angel" to heart. It would perhsps been better termed "rottweiler". You two did come on awfully strongly on one who was new to BBS's and had not posted before. And probably will never again.

Quite the contrary, if you are referring to yourself, Q. You were given repeated gentle warnings by Rich, the Sarge, GG and myself. You would admit that you were wrong, which I appreciated, then turn right around and continue with your nasty posts and name-calling. The rules of the boards clearly state that this will not be allowed. If the requirement for making you stop is for a moderator to get very angry with you, then that is what is done. That is what I did.
Now, you have insulted me and called me names and I will not tolerate it. You will abide by our rules or you will be blocked from participating. It is that simple.

WW has a point Q, and even though the occasional outburst is permitted (and sometimes, even understandable), we do all try to play within a set of 'Marquis of Queensbury' style rules here. God knows I have been chastised many times for similar violations (And over 90% of the time, I was totally in the wrong), I have always tried to better myself in future debating. All we ask is that you avoid personal attacks against individual posters. However, it is permissible to counter their arguments using logic and facts, and after all, is that not what debate is truly about...

Yeah, well, all you say is good and true. And I am not experienced or good in BBS's or posting. And, when I saw a slur from overseas against our current administration (like them or not, it's more the principle), I took off on a response to it. Didn't notice how very old it was; I mean, 18 months is a little absurd for a response, isn't it? But I didn't, so I did.
If the replies of two members of much longer standing had not been so viscious (play on my name, 24-pt +/- red font, other), I would have left it at as an apology and taken note of it so I didn't make that time mistake again. But, when I looked at those replies again, they indeed were; I doubt you, Rich, or anyone else interested has ever bothered to really read them.
So I responded as best I could. One, I think, was never heard from again, the other has been barking somewhat. Even Rich had a shot with his "Mr.".
I don't care, don't bother to answer because I'll never see it unless I become too curious; I'm necessarily out of here, so it's all irrelevant. But my original mistake was not all that serious, and I think there has been some awfully preferential treatment here--and I've seen "inner circle" accusations against this particular Board before.
So I know where I am, I see where you are, I sincerely hope the female canine's 1895 house caves in on her some night soon, and dat's da name 'a DAT tune. Too bad I could never see any, if any, replies to any of my other posts; perhaps best not.
