The ol' reprobate is right here.....just been really busy with things. We (The Augusta Regiment) are incorporating and filing for 501 (c) (3) status and guess who gets to do all the paperwork....uh-huh....me, that's who. Know any good lawyers, Mary??????????? Anyway, we got the Articles of Incorporation written and filed and now our official name is.....ready for this?......

3rd Battalion
Pennsylvania Regiment of Foot
The Augusta Regiment
Burd's Co'y, Inc.

BUT! We will still be known to all as The Augusta Regiment.

NOW I am wading through the Form 1023, etc.

"Why in the name of the great Jehovah would we do that?", she asks. Because we have been selected to receive some big grant $$ and we have to be one of those to get it. Next year is the 250th anniversary of the building of Fort Augusta and we have some big plans, and the grant will fund them.

I redid my backyard gardens and rebuilt my zig-zag rail fence, we had a neighborhood picnic over Labor Day, the kids from VA....2 adults, 3 kids, 2 big dogs...were here 2 weeks in a row. Once for the picnic and a special church service where Suzi sang, then for the first weekend of the Harvest Festival. Bryan rode in the 28 mile bike race, did very well, too, the kids rode their unicycles in the Pet Parade and won their Division, and the weekend was a ZOOOOOO! Nancy had duties all week with the Princess and her court and the other contestants at HF events each evening (she runs the Princess Pageant). Yesterday was an all day-er at the Harvest Festival last day craft/food/junk show and the big 2 hour parade. In addition, we had a houseful of B&B guests who were here for a funeral from Maryland and Canada. (www.homestead.com/tmbnb)

Oh, yes...besides all that, Jennifer, my youngest, birthed a fine baby boy last evening...a week ahead of schedule, and it was a rough, long labor. She started at school Friday afternoon and her principal chased her out! They went to the hospital at 11 PM and dropped Olivia off here for the night. She never knew it until she woke up Saturday morning.

I'm here.....lurking, as I get the chance. If something trips my trigger, I'll shout!!

Thanks for asking, Mare!

Olivia is thrilled to be a big sister (she's almost 5) and had the following to say about her new brother, Peyton Alexander, 7 lbs 9 1/2 oz, 20 " long, "I like him!" She asked if she could tell him his name, and was allowed, of course, to do so. She said to him as he was crying, "Hi Peyton, it's OK, sister is here. I'm Livvie." And didn't he stop crying??

Until mom and Peyton get home Tuesday, we will be helping to keep her happy and get her to wherever she needs to get to. Daddy is helping mom at the hospital during the day, so Olivia is here when she gets tired of being a big sister or needs some attention of her own.....which is easy to find around here.

Life's journey is not to
arrive at the grave safely
in a well preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways,
totally worn out, shouting
'...holy sh*t ...what a ride!'

Good lawyers? That's an oxymoron, isn't it?

Congratulations on the new grandson, Mike! And congratulations also to Jenny, Chip, and Grandma. So sorry to hear Jenny had a long and difficult labor, but what a wonderful end result. Peyton Alexander ... sounds like someone who signed the Declaration of Independence ... destined for great things, maybe?! You and Nancy must be very experienced at this grandparent thing by now.
Congratulations also on the grant money! Yes, your post definitely explains where you've been!

Don't worry, GG, I was thinking of hurling my Black's Law Dictionary at Fitz, but decided to take the high road instead. Of course, Fitz will say that's just so I can avoid my fellow sharks swimming down below ....
