Has anyone seen the 4-hour documentary on the National Geographic Channel entitled Inside 9/11?

It is compelling viewing. The first 2 hours deal with al Qaeda -their beginnings, growth, and so-called ideology. It looks at their acts of terror, and the United States lack of response. The second 2 hours recall the events of 9-11-01.

For those who have lost their resolve for this war; for those who have forgotten ... this is must see TV. As I watched, a growing chill ran through me as the 4 hours went by. By the end, I was ready to grab a musket.

I taped the show and lent it to a co-worker, so I am going to have to paraphrase this, but the last thing you see in this film are these words from Osama Bin Laden:

We love death. Americans love life.
That is our biggest difference.

On this September 11th ... 4 years later ... please remember!

I've not seen this but will check my local listings for air time. I, for one, shall NEVER forget but it's good to be reminded. Thanks, Rich.

There was an excellent program on the History Channel last night about 9/11. If it doesn't provide a response in viewers, there's either something wrong with them, and/or we deserve our fate. This is as real a war as we've fought, - there are simply no defined lines of battle. If we let our guard down, for even a short time, we can expect a replay in spades. If I can find that one Rich, - I'll make a point to watch it also. ... Thanks. Hard to believe it's been four years!

I didn't see this one, either. Wish I had.

But on Sunday (the 11th) at 9 PM the Discovery Channel is showing a brand new production titled, 93, The Flight That Fought Back

The Discovery Channel people were given access to flight voice recordings, cell phone recordings between passengers and their families, the 9/11 Commission report, and interviews of family members. They have pieced together this fantastic true story that I feel should go down in history as one of the most amazing examples of heroism in our Nation that has ever been told.

I will definitely be watching and recording. And I will Never Forget!

If you like those shows, you should pick up a copy of "Last Man Down" By Richard Picciotto. He is a retired New York City Fire Chief and he was the highest ranking firefighter to survive 9-11.

I'm a newspaper reporter and Picciotto was speaking at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. I covered the presentation for work and I'm telling you, you gotta read this book. He was actually trapped inside the North Tower of the World Trade Centers with 13 other people after the tower fell. During his presentation, he talked about what he saw and what happened and he showed pictures of where he and the others were found.

Not that I'm shilling for the guy, but if you want a gut-wrenching account of what it was like to be there, or a reminder about why we're fighting, you gotta get this book. I think most book stores, like Barns and Nobel, B. Dalton, or Waldenbooks carry it, but I'm sure you can get it at Amazon.com. He talks about the heroism, but he also talks about how supid some people were. One particular story he told was about this guy who refused to get off his computer and get out of the building. He said the guy kept saying "Can't you see I'm doing something important here?" Sheesh!

I will watch it today. I was going to watch it the other night, but it stayed on until 2:30 in the morning, and I knew that I wouldn't be able to stay up that late. Thanks for letting us know Rich!!!

Love,
Kay

I just finished watching the Flight That Fught Back and to me it was very emotional watching their ultimate sacrifice. Rest assured I WILL NEVER FORGET. As a matter of fact, I am constantly reminded daily during my commute to the World Trade Center. Some lessons to be learned from this are (1) to take nothing for granted and (2) always be on constant alert.
