I'm curious....was the assignment based on the movie or the novel? If it was movie-based, is this a drama class? If it's novel-based, then why watch the movie again?...simply read the book. I certainly hope that the teacher knows there is a difference in the two.

If the teacher who made the original assignment to the "honors"
student is anything like some of the ones that call me every day...
well, I wouldn't make any assumptions, Theresa! *LOL!*

As for you, Lurking Huron6217, your logic is so ridiculous it
doesn't even deserve a response. As a wise person once said,

Theresa, I think the poor high school student has fled Mohicanland forever! But, I got the impression the assignment was on the movie.

Yeah, I know, Doc M. No response would have been better, but I just never could sit idly by while someone threw outrageous accusations in my general direction.

Anyway... it all be water under the troll's bridge now........

I'm appalled to see how a couple of innocent comments made by members has led to so much animosity. I truly feel we were very kind and resourceful, in terms of explaining the importance of students researching their own work. According to what I read and posted, I didn't notice anyone being a snob or obnoxious. If I remember correctly, the student was invited back into this website once his/her research was completed. The more the merrier. .

Well, sometimes you just have to be on guard against those Lurking Hurons, or you might lose your scalp.

But... it's all done now. OK, guys? Let's let this topic stay as it lays.
