Hi guys. I'd like to enlist some of those famous Mohicanland vibes and prayers for my dad.
As some of you know, my father (78 years old) has had heart problems for many years (two heart attacks, three bypass surgeries, pace maker...) Well, at the end of last year his heart efficiency rate started to drop and went down to 23 percent which severely limits his capability to exercise and get around, whcih if you know my dad is a hard thing for him to deal with.
He has been accepted to go to Cleveland Clinic on March 2 and undergo the insertion of a special kind of pacemaker/defibrillator that does something called bilateral pacing or some thing similar. Don't ask for the specifics but it helps the heart's efficiency rate so that he will be able to have a better quality of life and energy rate. It is not an overly invasive procedure but like everything has a slim rate of risk. So if you all could start the good prayers and vibes for him now that would be great. His name is Zane Knauss.
I would really appreciate it!

Christina

Hey there, Christina,

Well you just KNOW that I wish that Dad of yours a successful surgery and recovery!!! Christina, your Dad is too interested in the world and everything in it, to give up without a gol' darn fight! Hehehee... Caitlin hit the nail on the head THERE!

It sounds like this procedure is going to make a real difference to his everyday life. And slowing down JUST WOULDN'T DO for Zane Knauss!

PLEASE, give him my best wishes, tell him I'm praying all goes well - and give him a big hug from me! BIG HUGS to you too, darlin'! Don't worry! You've got loads of friends standing with ye, and praying and sending your Dad good, positive thoughts.

Take care,
Love,
Kate.

I will keep both you and your father in my prayers. Hopefully all will go as well as can be hoped for. Zane Knauss, you say? That is a good Pennsylvania Dutch name, wouldn't you agree Seamus?

My thoughts and prayers are with your Dad. I'm so excited by what medical science is allowing us to do for our greatest generation. It's fitting that guys in your dad's generation are getting the benefits of these new techniques/technologies, their struggles made our relatively easy lives possible-they really deserve it.

I'll keep your dad in my thoughts and prayers, Christina. And I'd like to second the wise comments of Susquesus -- our dads deserve the best, and I hope this procedure can give him back more of the life he enjoys.

Just wanted to say hi to everybody before we head for Cleveland (we leave tomorrow morning). Procedure is on Wednesday. Docs are saying it will take three to six hours, but it is not general anaesthetic and the usual recovery time post-op is 21 hours, so if all goes well we will be returning to South Carolina on Friday. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, guys. not only for a safe procedure but for a safe trip. And I could use some good vibes...I dont' much like those long stints in hospital waiting rooms! I really appreciate all the great prayers and kind words we've received so far! Mohicanland is a special place, that's for sure... thanks for everything!
