According to Wes, "Its one part of a four part
mini-series called "Into The West?", a Dreamworks-Spielburg TV project.
My portion is entitled "Hell On Wheels", and I will portray the Cheyenne
Peace Chief,
Black Kettle. We will shoot in the Santa Fe area for about six weeks. I
don't know who else is in this particular cast, except to say just about
all the usual suspects of that era are represented, from Chivington
to Custer on one side and Crazy Horse and Roman Nose on the other. I
believe three other segments are planned as well."

Just wanted all Magua fans here in Mohicanland to know the good news!

Blessings,
Carter

Ironically, I hear they may film a segment on the Alamo battle. Great job and best of luck to Wes!

Wade,
Not to get off subject, but I finally saw "The Alamo." It was pretty good even though I'm not a big Billy Bob Thorton fan. My husband liked it alot.

Carter,
Congrats to Wes!!! He deserves all the success that he gets because he is very talented.

Love,
Kay

Question: Serious or comedy? The segment entitled "Hell on Wheels" makes me wonder ... Keep us posted on this one, Carter. Sounds promising!

The title is rather strange...I've learned that Chief Black Kettle was part of a very tragic era in American history and that Custer slaughtered many women and children in his tribe. Perhaps the "Hell On Wheels" title refers to Custer.
Thank you Dillon, Kay, and Rich for your words of congratulations!

Blessings,
Carter

Hello Everyone:

I just joined this site today, after accidentally (??) stumbling across it. I have also heard of "Into the West" It is supposed to air on TNT on June 16th or 17th. Jay Tavare is also in it - he plays Chief Prairie Fire, and Keri Russell ("Felicity") is also in the cast. I am really looking forward to seeing it.

There's a bit of a blurb (one page) about this in the January 9-15 TV guide; page 18. Mentions TNT; but no date; and only lists Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Settle, Keri Russell, and Simon Baker. Alas, no Wes Studi mention.
