Poll Question:
Hello All,

Just another short intermission, and a request for input. First I have decided on a title for the series of fictional stoies I am writting, it is as follows:

Soldier of the King; The Life and Times of Duncan Munro

The preceeding set of stories is from the part of the book called 'Winter Quarters 1763-1764'. I will be starting the next part here shortly but, I now need some input from those poor souls subjected to my poor writing skills. The question I have for you is...

Where do I go from here?

Choices:

Go forward, "Advance on the sound of the guns, Sarge"
Start at the begining, "Time to use the Way-Back Machine, Mr. Peabody"
Don't know, don't care...

Serjeant-Major Duncan Munro
Capt. Thos. Graham's Coy.
42nd Royal Highland Regiment of Foote
(The Black Sheep of the Black Watch)

"Nemo Me Impune Lacessit"
-Or-
"Recruit locally, fight globally."

I think you should go ahead... I haven't read everything you did before, but from what I have read, I think you should keep going.

Are you considering publishing? If so, and if you need someone to do a book design/cover/etc., let me know if you're interested in using my skills. I'd love to be part of it, if you do! (consider 18th century line art at the chapter heads

(And I am not one of those designers that gets all bent out of shape if the client wants something different than what I suggest).

I think that you should go ahead too if you can swing it timewise.

A dissenting voice here, Sarge: I would love to hear about these characters from the beginning. But I'll enjoy reading your stories no matter when they take place, so do what feels right to you as the writer.

Forward, forward, my dear lad! I'd like to see how things end up with Schloss & Co. the Stewarts, etc.

When things slow down a bit, that's the time to go back and reflect. You're too much in the thick of things now to jump back just yet.

You should seriously consider publishing this stuff...maybe not through traditional methods, but electronically. E-authors are a whole new category of publishing. I've looked into it a bit...but we can discuss offline.

Well, it looks like the jury is in, and the "Go Forwards" have it. For those who wish for some of the earlier adventures, have no fear, I shall include them as small detours or flashbacks. I am still deciding if I am going to tell the story of Duncan's father here, if not it will probably show up in the hard copy variant.

Yes, I am still kicking around the idea of hard publishing this work, and if so it will include the proper chronological order of things. I will also have many more chapters that are not included in the e-posts here in Mohicanland. It will be a bonus for those who choose to suffer through the actual book...

So, with no further adieu, I will start the next part of this work entitled:

"...A Finish To This Damnable War" 1764-1765

Capt. Thos. Graham's Coy.
