The Adventures of Colonel Daniel Boone was published in The American Magazine in 1787 and again in a book by George Imlay in 1793. The latter publication is the source for this online text.

Just use this link and then click on Chapter 1, 2, or 3.

Thanks Graybeard,
It is nice to know that others are interested in the life and legend of Dan'l. Surprisingly there are only a few books on this man so essential to history. You can see huge similarities between the Daniel Boone Story and TLOTM. You probably know that it was the basis of the book. Anyway thanks for the interest.

Please add my "welcome" to the others, Cherokee Girl. That's an excellent signature line you have there!

Haven't finished reading the Boone material yet, but it is indeed very interesting. I've read a good modern biography of Daniel Boone, by John Mack Faragher, which came out in 1992. Another one, "Boone: A Biography" by Robert Morgan, has just been released. Robert Morgan is a novelist who writes about the NC mountain region in various eras. I've read two of his books, "Gap Creek" and "Brave Enemies," and enjoyed both very much. One of the characters in "Brave Enemies" is a young woman who, for reasons too complicated to go into here, dresses as a man and fights at the Battle of Cowpens. Given his skills as a novelist, Morgan's biography of Boone should be very entertaining to read.
