Happy Birthday!
Well, I have an aniversary better that that. Cindy and I were married on July 4. It makes from problems, though. Restaurants are closed, everybody has something planned, and we haven't been together with the girls on that day in years. On the other hand, it's easy to remember. And this year I have a choice between going to a reenactment at Cowpens, or spending the day with Cindy. I guess Cindy will win out. Now,if it was Fort Toulouse, well . . . |

Today makes 36 for us. And as usual I will hang out my Gadsden flag with "Liberty or Death" written across the bottom. (What's wrong with this picture?)
There's going to be a problem with Fort Toulouse this November. This year it falls on the same weekend as Camden. I don't know what I am going to do yet. |

I usually go down there during Frontier Days with the fifth grade but since we've restructured our grades, I'm no longer with those students so if I go it would be on the weekend. And, of course, there's always the F & I in the spring. Please let me know and we'll make a point to be there. |

Don & I celebrated ours on Table Rock and Linville Falls day! Couldn't think of too many places as beautiful as those.

Kate, Don & I did have a very nice time up in Linville. We stayed at the Linville Cottages (across from Louise's). It's true - we DID miss the trip to Lake James. And we tried to eat breakfast at Louise's on Tues am. I think we wore them out on Monday cause they were CLOSED! 
But we had a wonderful drive along the Blueridge Parkway back to Asheville. Found a great cafe in Little Switzerland and some beautiful trails to hike along the way. AND...Don gave me a beautiful handmade dulcimer! Now I need to learn how to play the dern thing!

Sounds JUST A PERFECT DAY, Jayne!!!! Glad that your first anniversary was so memorable!!!
And - a handmade dulcimer, huh?? What a LOVELY gift!! (I got a handmade Appalachian Dulcimer many years ago - and NEVER HAVE learned how to play it PROPERLY! So... I wish you MUCH MORE SUCCESS with it than I had!! :o) )
