Let's see who has been paying attention ...

The burial scaffold seen during The Burial Ground sequence of The Last of the Mohicans was filmed ... where?

hmmm...Seems like I remember back in 2001, John Harkins requesting that we go to that place and if I remember correctly it was...oooo....I want to say either in the Lake James area or along the George Road in Linville....but I'm leaning more toward the Lake James area.

I think we're right, Theresa.

I remember walking along the main road from the place where the Burial Ground was, up to the landing where the canoes were launched. There were some guys fishing there... I remember how red the clay soil of the bank was and I remember thinking, "HEY!! That's the 'canoe launch' location!!! I recognise it!'

Yeah... I say it was DEFINITELY in the woods not far from the 'canoe launch' location.

Yeah... my first thought was at the Biltmore but... wasn't that where the location was of the scene of Hawkeye and Cora laying... TALKING about the night stars being a memorial to his folks and the Camerons.

As soon as I hit the 'post' button, I remembered that the actual BURIAL platform was built in the woods near the 'canoe launch'...

The way *I* see it is - THIS WAS A TRICK QUESTION, R!!! But I think we girls have the rights o' it...

I just remember John wanted to get out to the Lake before it got too dark. It meant a lot to him to see this spot.

Trick question INDEED!

In actuality, this scene was filmed in BOTH places ... very near the shooting of The Burial Ground scene itself at Biltmore AND adjacent to the Canoe Launch area at Lake James. Which take made it to film is subject to debate. Like maybe nobody knows!!

So, now you know ... or don't!
