Hi. I have a question. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the number of forums. Where would be the proper place to ask another poster a question? I know I could PM him but I'd rather ask publicly so others might see it and be able to help. I guess I might as well just spit it out here.

I read that Highlander had formerly volunteered at the Heinz History Center and it brought to mind my own trip there not long ago. I enjoyed it of course but noticed an exhibit there which I believe is misidentified. It is a pictoral record of a successful raiding party. The Center attributes it to a Seneca. I believe it was Tanaghrisson the Iroquois viceroy or "Half-King" in the upper Ohio Valley. Instead I believe the exhibit actually comes from a raid led by a Delaware named Wingenund. Wingenund is that chief who gives the speech to Colonel Crawford that he must die for his part in the Moravian Massacre. He's mentioned here in LOTM context:

So my question is if someone knows who to talk to at the Center and how to get ahold of them. I've been unable to find an email address other than the generic history society addy. I've actually seen this titled the "Warmarks of Wingenund" in James Merrell's excellent Into the American Woods: Negotiators on the Pennsylvania Frontier.

Hey, 2sense -

Moved it here & changed title. A good idea to make the title relevant to the post when seeking info, to attract those who might assist. A PM to Highlander might be a good idea, as well.

Good luck in your search!

I don't have an answer, but if you don't mind a suggestion: Why not just call them up and ask who the appropriate party would be?

I suppose I could just call them. I tried to do it online because it just seems to me this sort of thing should be handled by correspondence rather than in person, as it were. But good idea. I'll give them a ring next week during office hours.
