According to the novel, Hawkeye was a few years older than Uncas...but in the movie...I kinda thought that Uncas looked out for Hawkeye more than the other way around..sorta like a protective older brother...who do ya think?

From the movie I get the impression Hawkeye is the oldest. I'm not certain why, perhaps it is the exchange at the Cameron's cabin when Alexandria says "Why is Uncas with you...he should have settled with a woman now." As though looking out for his well-being, whereas Hawkeye is appears to be his own man. Also, Hawkeye is a more take charge sort of fellow, whereas Uncas appears to be more laid back, letting "older brother" take the lead. But that's just my opinion.

I thought Hawkeye acted the oldest..maybe because he was so much more outspoken and seemed more wordly compared to the silent and strong Uncas. I dunno...but on the other side, I could see Uncas being portrayed as the oldest brother because him and Chingachook seemed like they were constantly having Hawkeye's back. Hawkeye was cool..but Uncas seemed more like his father...talk only when you need to. *sigh* love the strong and silent types. lol

i'M A fan of the strong and silent types tooo...hahaha.. I think Hawkeye is more hotheaded in a certain sense..and his father and brother is always there watching his back.. but also..he acted older in the sense that he was always the one taking the intiative...and leading..
hmmm...chingachook was definitely the wisest of them. I think Uncas seemed more like his father and Hawkeye was more the "go-get'em" type. Chingachook and Uncas were more the "let's wait and see what happens" and every action was well thought out. Either way, they all looked good! No matter how old! I got a certain weakness for our brothers with long black flowing hair and them running around in loincloths! lol Too bad they still don't dress like that!

Ching was definitely the wisest...i thought Uncas was pretty level-headed until the last part when he dashed off to save alice..i guess his desperation to save her over-rode all other logic.. i loved the part when uncas touched his father's shoulder and kinda nodded before going after alice..they didn't exchange a word but yet father and son..well..both knew..i thought that it was really sweet communication between the both of them
