Rambo? :) Just kidding ...

In this movie, I think it is Hawkeye who proves to be the ablest of warriors ...

Wow, I think that's a tough one. Though I think Hawkeye proves himself worthy of the title, one has to look at Magua and admire his cunning.

Jack McCall: "Should we shake hands or something, relieve the atmosphere. I mean how stupid do you think I am?"
Wild Bill Hickok: "I don't know, I just met you."

"A nation with no regard to it's past will have little future worth remembering."

I'm gonna vote for Chingachgook. Sure Hawkeye was the crack-shot, but in every aspect excepting the rifle he and Uncas were the Chingachgooks' pupils. Hand to hand and with the throwing of the war club he was unstoppable. When he sticks it to Magua at the end, whew!-makes me shiver.

I have to vote for Chingachgook also. In the end, I believe his experience provided the RIGHT speed, vitality, strength and stamina when he needed it most. Magua certainly had the first four characteristics, but he lost to Experience.

Very tough call though.
