LOL!! Oh, Anthony... you really did make up for the fact that the first thing I saw when I logged on today was ol' Manuel Noriega's ugly mug staring me in the face!
Thank you, all, for the birthday wishes. You have really helped to make my day! And if there is anyone out there, who hasn't peeked at my profile... I am now 56. Hey, it's just a number, right?
P.S. Rich, we need a Smilie-Blowing-Kisses! (Watch it, Anth!) |

Well, I'll tell ya... I don't know from Doo-Wop!
I was West Coast, and was a young child in the 50's. Nope, I'm more of a 60's Elvis--Beach Boys--Beatles--Kingston Trio--Joan Baez person... who segued into 70's Jim Croce--Crosby, Still, Nash & Young--Eagles--Fleetwood Mac. That is... when I wasn't listening to Tchaikowsky, Beethoven and Rachmaninoff! |

There now! Look at that! Up there... at the top of the page in the History Channel box! It says: "This Day In History... Feb. 7, 1964, Beatles Arrive in New York." Two days after my 17th birthday! Man-Oh-Man, does that ever bring back memories of watching them on the Ed Sullivan Show on a Sunday evening with my parents. I can hear my Mother laughing right now... |

I remember watching the Beatles coming off the plane on our black and white Philco t.v. in the living room of our house.I was so excited and knew they weren't too far from me because the airport they came out of was local. My father looked at the t.v. and said,"who the hell are those long haired freaks?" Now when I look at those old pictures of the Beatles,I realize their hair really wasn't long at all. They just combed it down. The Beatles influenced me to play the guitar.Nothing but good memories. |
